NYU Transfer Class - 2012
Figured I'd go ahead and make this thread since the admits were starting to talk to each other in the "still pending" thread.
Couple questions to start off:
1) Has anyone received their University ID # yet? How long did it take?
2) How's the housing hunt going for us non-NYC people? If anyone needs a +1 for their apartment, PM me because I'm currently craigslisting it up for Brooklyn housing.
3) Has anyone talked to OCS about bidding strategies for transfers? I'm currently drafting my bid list on the same tactics that the regular students use (more popular firms bid higher even if less selective, more selective firms lower down) but I have no idea if this works.
Post away!

Welcome to NYU! I'm a rising 2L. Feel free to pm me with any questions about EIW bidding/course selection (I found course selection to be maddening and crazy).

Re: NYU Transfer Class - 2012
Mdfreeman and I are looking into getting an apartment somewhere in the city for the year. We just had a couple of beers near NYU, and I can safely say that we're both easy going and easy to get along with. We want to keep costs down on rent, so if anyone else is looking for a place, we are definitely open to one or two more people. If interested, PM me.

For the Net ID, check the admitted students page under "University ID." If it's not there, contact admissions.arigoldwannabe wrote:I'm pumped to join this thread.

It took about 48 hours before I could log in. Some people have been able to log in within a few hours of being accepted though.

Born in Ft. Laudy but spent most of my time across the state in Ft. Myers.canesfan1986 wrote:Dude! You're from Florida too! 305 represent! lol I haven't lived anywhere else either. I hope you are a Dolphins fan, because Im ganna need somebody to watch the games with and piss of Jets fans. lolol I was a life long canes fan until I spent the past year at FSU. Nov. 12th (UM v. FSU game) was the first time I rooted against the canes. It hurt a little.

I am, unfortunately, a Dolphins fan. We can wear paper bags on our heads together for next season lol. I've also had Heat season tix since 06, so I hope you're down to watch Heat games. I definitely want to go trolling at MSG. lol and I'll never root against the Canes, even as far as they've fallen since I was in HS.arigoldwannabe wrote:Born in Ft. Wow idk if i could have given up going to heat games right now. That is a bold move. And yes, I am so down with throwing on the bron born jersey and screwing with the knickerbocker fans.canesfan1986 wrote:I am, unfortunately, a Dolphins fan. Re: the canes, I figured since I could identify with FSU since I was actually a student, that was a stronger bond than being a UM fan just by proximity. However, old school hurricanes football is the best ever. The 2001 team craps any team EVER. Ive watched the ESPN 30 for 30 about 15 times. Gotta love that swag.
I apologize to all the non-305 sports fans. canesfan and I are seriously getting off topic.

Is anyone else struggling to fill out the "academic" tab in symplicity? There is a required field that needs to be filled out for graduation year and mine only goes to 2012.

I ended up just leaving the graduation year blank. Even though it says it's a required field, I was able to keep going without filling it out.

Hey all. So, I'm joining the transfer party, too. I was accepted last week, and finally pulled the trigger and put down a deposit today. If anyone is looking for housing and is still around on the boards, hit me up!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
