Emory vs. BU
I was offered admissions to both Emory and BU. Because both schools are almost identical in rankings, I am not quite sure as to which school would be a better option for me. I would like to practice law in D.C. area. Also, it is my intention to practice public interest law. So I was wondering which degree is more "portable" or have more national recognition. Any thoughts?

Neither is better. Emory for Atlanta, BU for Boston.

Non-IP transfers to BU occasionally find jobs through OCI. I'm not positive, but I think Emory transfers are SOL.

BU people get jerbs; Emory people are questionable.

I don't think either of these schools can get you into DC. Which one costs less? And which area do you like more?

Both schools cost about the same. I guess if I had to choose between Boston and Atlanta, I would go with Boston since it has larger market. Or does it?shock259 wrote:I don't think either of these schools can get you into DC. Which one costs less? And which area do you like more?

Re: Emory vs. BU
emory's interview programs for ny and atlanta are MUCH more robust than the program for dc. that said, a lot of firms that come for atlanta oci have big presences in dc. THAT said, you'll have trouble getting through the doors at oci if your gpa isn't really good. so tifwiw.
