1L GPA: 3.454 (expecting 20-25%)
Soft: 2x Work Experience in fashion/online start-up & 3 languages (Kor. Jap. & Chin.)
i really wanted to get out of camden. so i pretty much blanketed T1 schools from NW to Pepperdine, and I just got my first transfer results.
WUSTL Law
BU Law
BC Law
I am happy with the result so far. I think i got into higher than expected. still waiting for:
Vandy
USC
UCLA
Northwestern
Minnesota
U of Wash.
Emory
Let us hope.

Congrats! You are no longer going to Camden. I just transferd out of a T2 too and I am getting ready for OCI. A lot of law firms that are very prestigious and I am not sure I will get any hits.882camden wrote:Ex-School: RU Camden

Seems like there's quite the mass exodus for us Raptors this year.882camden wrote:Ex-School: RU Camden

Congrats!
I'm still waiting at one LOR. Should go complete any day now. Getting nervous about being late.

I think softs matter if you have quality softs to begin with.

While numbers matter, I think softs may have a significant impact on transfer apps. If you are multi-lingual, attended an ivy for undergrad, have a stellar LSAT score, and/or possess solid work experience, etc., you will beat out the other candidates, even with a lower GPA. Especially true if you can carve out a theme of diversity for schools that seek that kind of thing.
I have to agree.. with my stats diversity softs def mattered. i went top lib arts college and also worked in an unique field which i added that i would want to continue.

TBF as a Rutgers-Camden student I've probably heard more gunshots over the past year than some of my friends who served in Afghanistan.CanadianWolf wrote:Plus, you have a year of combat zone experience.

Anyone else from Camden having trouble getting official transcripts mailed? Every time I call them to check the status of transcripts that should have gone out over a week ago I am told that "the printer isn't working." It's pretty frustrating and I'm starting to worry that it is going to have an adverse effect on my applications if I don't go complete until July.
Also, OP, congrats on your acceptances!

unfortunately, applying early MATTERS. they decide on a rolling basis. unless your app is lights out tremendous, then it drops your chances.

Re: Just got my first batch of transfer admissions.
Sometimes a few of the things the staff will do makes me feel like they're purposely holding onto things so as to make it harder to transfer. Like it took almost a week to get my Deans Letter of Good Standing certified this summer, yet when I did EA before the merger news it was done that same day.secretaryoftaste wrote:Anyone else from Camden having trouble getting official transcripts mailed? I think my year in camden gave me enough street cred-
i have seen more people on crack than those who weren't.
also got forced into giving a bum a dollar. because when i told him i only had large bills, he took me to a nearby store and forced me to change that large bill to a dollar bill so i can give it to him.

Yea. they actually sent an unfinished transcript to BU despite my request to hold until all my grades out. so BU had call me and ask for an unofficial one so they can review it before getting the official one. the adcom and BU also told me that Rutgers wouldn't return her call.

The bums aren't too bad, some of them I actually feel bad for (as long as they aren't the meth head ones), poverty is rough and it's this vicious cycle. What troubles me is the legitimate violent crime.882camden wrote:I think my year in camden gave me enough street cred-

I feel you on the street cred, now whenever one of my friends from home says "Oh my god, this place was like in the ghetto," I have to correct them and say "Be still, dear child, for you have never seen the ghetto."
