Schools That Don't Rank
I currently attend a T20 and have an estimated (TLS) rank of top 1.5%, but the school does not provide ranking. In fact, they only award designations for fairly large swathes of the class. Obviously, a school can see my GPA, and can see what band I belong to, but how do they get a sense of where I fall within that band? Do they just have historical data?

I'm in the same boat. My school only ranks by 5 percent increments.

It's a dilemma, especially considering that apparently some schools have a GPA range that goes to 4.3. The school will probably get a pretty good idea of where you stand by looking at your transcript, but yeah, it's annoying. When you're applying to HYS, there's a big difference between top 1% and top 5%.
