I can't believe that being #1 at a 50-75 T2 isn't enough to get me one damned acceptance. What the hell?

Thanks. It just sucks because I really wanted a couple years of studying in NYC. But, assuming I get a Biglaw job in my home market, everything will work out well anyway and I'll have save loads on money.RodneyBoonfield wrote:Either way it sounds like you're in fantastic shape. Congrats.

That's such bullshit, dude. This whole cycle--what the hell. edit: Your attitude about it is admirable. Still hoping you get something good.canesfan1986 wrote:Thanks. Thank you. I've got to make lemonade with the lemons. You know what I mean? I do feel like throwing the lemons at the Adcomms, literally, and getting some nice headshots. lolInnocuousDiatribe wrote:That's such bullshit, dude. Best of luck at NU. I'm sure Chicago will be a blast. Are you looking to live up there after school?

Re: NYU Transfers
For a few years at least--I used to live up there and loved it. Of course, clerkship opps. (if possible) and other unforeseeable shit might change that, but for the foreseeable future I think I'll make Chicago my home. Ring me if you're ever in the downtown area; beer's on me.canesfan1986 wrote:Thank you. I've got to make lemonade with the lemons. You know what I mean? Canes - Keep the hope alive. A guy that that finished #1 at my T2 school last year was admitted to NYU in early August. Also, I think the deposit due date for a bunch of admitted students is today. Hopefully a bunch more decisions come out tomorrow and Thursday.

Re: NYU Transfers
Got the tuition box and "decision letter sent" update this morning. Just got the phone call from admissions. Headed to NYU.
If any of you are waiting on MVP, this may open up a spot for you. I feel a little guilty to be happy when I know so many people are still waiting - but I actually got an email from the admissions person at my school who said NYU's cycle has been extremely slow this year and they are still doing regular offers (i.e. not just filling spots of people who withdraw).
So, don't give up hope. It's been an extremely frustrating couple of months for many of us - I really hope that you guys who are still waiting get good news and that we can all go drinking in a couple of weeks.

Is it even worth going at that point? Don't you miss out on OCI at some point?InSport wrote:Canes - Keep the hope alive. this process has been less then fortunate for me as well
T2 5/3xx
No word from Columbia or NYU. Rejected from MVP. Waitlisted at GULC. Only acceptance is at GW.

Status changed to letter sent and just got a voicemail. I will be headed there for sure. The wait sucked but it was well worth it.

Re: NYU Transfers
seems like everyone getting status updates has been getting in same-day/next-day over the past few days ... which obviously means that I'm stuck at UR 7/10-12
ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Hey NYU, I'd still pick you if you admit me now, so please accept me!

Accepted today, but the wait was too long so I never really got the chance to consider NYU.
Hopefully one of you deserving posters above gets the spot.

Was just going to email OCS about that. I've found that I've had to do some significant prodding with NYU to get information I needed. They're not unhelpful by any means, they just sort of move at their own pace it seems.Sunfox wrote:Has anyone received a symplicity username and PW yet?
