My instinct is that Boalt may be a waste. But if you are only looking at three schools, is it really cost-prohibitive to apply to all three?

Where does the third tier end and the fourth tier begin? Is that like near the #100 spot?

100 is the end of TT, TTT/TTTT barrier is considerably deeper

Instead of posting a new thread, I thought I'd try to see if anyone could speculate on my chances in this one, as my situations is a little similar.
TTT/TTTT CA top 18% to TT (USD, USF, Santa Clara, Hastings). No considerable softs to speak of, but I did AMJUR one course.
Anybody with experience that can help?

In regards to being cost prohibitive, schools don't take fee waivers. And by my guess, I might have a 2% chance at hitting 1 of the 3, but I would have to apply to all 3, so thats $250 right there.
I've looked around yahoo transfer apps. Its pretty spotty for T3/4 apps, I haven't seen anyone with 7% ever get in. And Boalt in particular is known for favoring early apps, to which I haven't sent anything yet. So basically, just looking for confirmation that it would be a waste of money.

My guess is you would get USD or Hastings and maybe both. Santa Clara and USF should be gimmees, but nothing is certain for T3/4. However, I don't think Santa Clara or USF would be worth it. I don't even know if USD or Hastings would be big enough of a jump to make it worth it. It would depend on your scholly situation. Obviously, if you're not on a scholarship or its pretty low, and/or your school doesn't offer you anything, you transfer, but otherwise its a tough call.coolerking wrote:Instead of posting a new thread, I thought I'd try to see if anyone could speculate on my chances in this one, as my situations is a little similar.

i say throw an app at ucla/usc but understand those are reaches.
boalt is probably totally out of the question. i'm from hastings and you already need top 5-10% to get into boalt from here.
