Probably top 1% at T20
Don't know about class rankings, but I assume I'm pretty high up there. The class rank estimator has me in the top 1 percent. Obviously, I can't assume I'll do quite so well this semester (though I'll try!). So let's say I get a 3.5 and wind up with a 3.7 and am in the top 10 percent... What can I get? What can I get if I stay about where I am?

Re: Probably top 1% at T20
I was right around top 10% at T20-25. Got into NYU and Penn, didn't get into Columbia. Some kids who were ranked higher got into none of them. A kid in top 5% went to Harvard. My guess is that, around the top 10% mark, MVP become serious possibilities, with perhaps a chance at a CCN, but that certainly isn't guaranteed. Though if you stay at your current rank somehow, you will very likely get into Harvard. I would be amazed if you didn't with a top 1 or 2% rank at a T20.FlanSolo wrote:Don't know about class rankings, but I assume I'm pretty high up there. Last year at my T20, numbers 1,2 and 3 went to yale, Harvard and Harvard. Apparently this happens regularly here (maybe not Y, but at least H).

At BU, 6 people transferred to Harvard from the 2013 class. Apparently, that's not uncommon for BU because it's just across the river.TatteredDignity wrote:Last year at my T20, numbers 1,2 and 3 went to yale, Harvard and Harvard. Apparently this happens regularly here (maybe not Y, but at least H).

If you are in the top 5% at a Top 20 you should blanket the Top 6 plus any T14 schools that fit your career goals in terms of geography. So if you are at Vandy and want to work in the south, you should do T6 + UVA, Duke. If you are out west you should do T6 + Boalt. Etc.

Ok, now I regret not spending the 75 bucks to see what would have happened. I thought people had to be top 5% to even have a chance.Cupidity wrote:My friend my T20 got into Harvard with top 10%

Flattered that you've paid enough attention to have an opinion. I'm a 1L, though.NYC Law wrote:I thought you were a 0L?TatteredDignity wrote:Last year at my T20, numbers 1,2 and 3 went to yale, Harvard and Harvard. Apparently this happens regularly here (maybe not Y, but at least H).

According to the administration anyway. I only met two of the people that were transferring before they actually transferred. That was 5 days before classes started. hahakaiser wrote:Wow, there were 6?
