Perhaps stupid question...
If I applied to a firm from my old school and got rejected, would you suggest against applying to that firm my new school's OCI?

Re: Perhaps stupid question...
if the firm is coming to your new school's OCI and it's not preselect, i would say it couldn't hurt to apply again. sad to say, but the reason you may have been dinged in the first place was because whatever school you went to didn't have a strong reputation. moreover, the person who dinged you (i'm assuming it was through mass mail) most likely won't be the same person interviewing you during OCI, so the risk of resume recognition is pretty slim.
if the OCI is preselect, though, i would probably just give it up, as there's a chance the person who dinged your resume initially will be the same person sorting through resumes during the preselect process. if you didn't stand out the first time, you probably won't stand out the second time.

I'd say don't bother unless you know you're a fantastic interviewer and that firm is your #1 dream firm. Or if it's a smaller, regional firm that doesn't get a lot of T6 students who may be interested in the NYU name.
On the plus side, the preselects you did get should help give you an idea of where to bid. I withdrew from my old school's OCI as soon as I knew I was transferring, so I never got this type of information, which may end up being pretty valuable.
