help me decide, W&L, Rutgers, American, Cardozo
Heres the skinny, I want to practice somewhere between NYC, Philly, and DC. Sometimes Cali seems like it might be fun too. Basically im undecided. The choices are Washington and Lee, Rutgers Camden, American, and Cardozo. SO, which school will afford me most mobility? Which is the overall best choice? Or failing that, any opinion at all would be good. Money is not a consideration.

American, but you won't get Cali. The answer is retake & reapply.

Just out of curiosity, why would one pick American over W&L (only know the schools based on their listing on the rankings page). W&L is higher ranked and located close in VA, so placements in DC/NY/Philly should be decent.

W&L over the others without question. I have heard, however, the W&L has a funky transfer GPA policy by which it discounts your 1L GPA. Not sure about details, though.

LOL at people saying American over W&L. However, transferring into any of these schools isn't a great idea.

It's tough between American and W&L. The former is in DC and thus allows for amazing internship experiences through the summer and academic year, but isn't known for placing students into desirable private sector jobs (I imagine government is good). The latter is somewhat known for getting its graduates some desirable private sector jobs, but isn't known for placing in OP's desired regions.
For me, the tie breaker would be American being in a major metropolitan area. On the flip side, American is #3 in the metropolitan area and the schools above it have larger class sizes.
Honestly, it could go either way. However, I'm not certain I would transfer to either. OP, what school are you transferring from?

BTW, why is nobody voting for Cardozo? Any particular reason?

Good god, W&L and it's not even close. American is a black hole for employment purposes.

OP - I think you may be better off top 10% (or whatever the case may be) at Syracuse and mass mailing than as a transfer to W&L or American.
You already took the major risk by attending Syracuse in the first place, and I'm uncertain that you should take an additional risk by transferring and potentially giving up LR and latin honors.

While this is all true, I need to leave Syracuse. I really like the school, SU is great.... but I cant deal with 179 inches of snow, 40 inches of rain, and a town that is so thoroughly ghetto that people got murdered a three doors down from my house. Oh, and walking to class when its -13 out wasnt charming either.Aberzombie1892 wrote:OP - I think you may be better off top 10% (or whatever the case may be) at Syracuse and mass mailing than as a transfer to W&L or American.

That's exactly how I feel about where I'm at. Same winter (from California), but had to take the bus in it as I don't live near campus. I'm excited to leave.

Don't think you can go wrong with wnl or cardozo. Depends where you want to work i would imagine. NY for cardozo and wnl for dc. Did you apply to fordham?

No I didn't, for which I consider my self an enormous idiot. That should have been fairly obvious.RodneyBoonfield wrote:Don't think you can go wrong with wnl or cardozo. Depends where you want to work i would imagine. NY for cardozo and wnl for dc. Did you apply to fordham?
