T2 top 50%
Most people on this forum apparently did much better in their first year classes. What about someone like me whose grades are not so great thought I did better than half of the class. Should I even bother to apply as transfer to schools like Loyola, Pepperdine, or it will be just waste of time? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Re: T2 top 50%
If I understand you correctly, you're currently at a T2 school?
So you're looking to transfer laterally to another T2? I honestly don't know if top half will get you that, but if you have a compelling reason to go to Loyola or Pepperdine it might be worth the application. I would suggest you get on it yesterday, though. It's getting awfully later to transfer. In fact, if you don't have recommendations from professors, it's likely too late.

My classmate is trying to transfer to Loyola from a T2 in Norcal. He said Loyola told him that top 25-33% will make him a strong candidate. So you probably have shot, being at the median, if you put together a strong application.

I think you should go for it. Remember that you miss 100% of the shots you don't attempt to make. The app fees are ridiculous, yes, but at the end of the day this is your future and your career so that money is really a drop in the bucket. Go for it.

I am seeking to transfer because of a family matter. Other than that I really love the school I attend and the Bay area.mistergoft wrote:Do you have any reason for making a lateral transfer?lawchampion wrote:Most people on this forum apparently did much better in their first year classes. If not, then no. Why would you do that?
