Anyone put in a transfer app to SMU this fall? If so, any news? When did you go complete? Any word from the admissions office? Stats?

I'm applying. App is complete, but I was told that they will not start reviewing apps until July 15. I was also told that they let in about 1/3 of transfer applicants. Soooo *fingers crossed*

I applied and was also told apps will be reviewed after July 15th. Received a phone call Friday from admissions that I was accepted and will be receiving admissions pkg by monday. Seat deposit due by Thursday. Anyone else?

Out via status checker. SMU undergrad, tier 1 law school, decent grades, member of a journal, clerked for a judge in Dallas and currently working for a Dallas firm.

I was never given status checker info, but received email from them on Tuesday, 12th that I was complete. Received phone call on Friday, 15th.

Never received a Status Checker. Got an acceptance phone call on July 15th. Accepted.

No, I have reasons for wanting to relocate specifically to Dallas. I haven't recieved anything via snail mail yet, and I was told today that they were still reviewing and notifying admits so...I gueeeesss all is not lost, but who really knows. *sigh*

Did they give y'all a time to submit money? I know they were due some time today. Has everyone decided? I know a few people were deciding on other schools...seeing if I should lose hope or not lol

You're absolutely right to not lose hope. Deadline for seat deposit was set for today, no specific time given. I paid yesterday. Did you apply to Texas Wesleyan in Ft. Worth?

I didn't, I really considered it bc I have some compelling reasons for trying to get to Dallas...but, I couldn't justify transferring down...and I figured I would take a HUGE risk and go for SMU. *sigh* Now I'm thinking that was a dumb decision lol

I get it. I thought the same, transfer down.. nah. But I ended up applying only because it wouldn't have hurt me in any way. Only if there was an acceptance would I now have options to consider. Good luck to you!
