Official Transcripts
I keep reading how people are already getting accepted. The schools I have applied to have not yet received official transcripts via mail yet, and I am starting to get a bit worried, as most if not all are rolling admissions. Should I be worried, or am I just overreacting? Also, I have sent unofficial transcripts to the schools I have applied to as of earlier this week, however, none of the applications are yet marked complete. Some schools have stated that they do not accept unofficial transcripts. Should I contact my school and ask if they have sent the information yet?

Re: Official Transcripts
Nothing wrong with following-up with your school. Some schools accept unofficial transcripts and will make a decision based on them which is conditional on your official transcript being exactly the same. However, other schools don't. Generally, schools like Berkeley that accept students earlier in the summer are more likely to accept unofficial transcripts.

Do your schools require you to send them directly to each one? I just updated my CAS report.

Re: Official Transcripts
NYU and CLS both responded to my e-mail with an unofficial transcript by pretty much saying "thanks, but we're gonna wait on your official one."stjohns wrote:do you know if NYU or columbia will accept unoffical transcripts?

Re: Official Transcripts
Law school transcripts must go directly to schools. Every top school requires it. Not sure about lower ranked schools (ie. non T14).stjohns wrote:i sent an official transcript to LSAC and am hoping they'll update my acct. im thinking that was a mistake and should have sent them directly to the schools

Re: Official Transcripts
Most schools will accept LoRs through LSAC. Look at the info page for transfers for each school or the instructions in the LSAC application page. They usually spell it out.stjohns wrote:what about letters of rec? also striaght to the school or can those be sent to LSAC?

Re: Official Transcripts
I am just having the registrar send it to each school. I applied to a few, one says that they need the official, but still have not got it. The others just said "thank you, we'll add it to the file" but nothing was updated on the status checker. I am assuming they are still waiting for the official.
One of the schools I applied to is Cardozo, and they said 'thank you'. Does anyone know if they make decisions based on the unofficial transcript without the dean's letter?
I am going to call my registrar's office later today, as it has been over a week now since grades have been up and I would have thought that some of the schools would have received the dean's letter/rank/grades by now.
