Has anyone heard from Yale?

Post by mscarn23 » Wed Jun 22, 2011 9:10 am

I sent in my Yale app 2 or 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything back yet. They also don't appear to have requested my LSAC report, though since theirs is exclusively a paper application I have no idea whether they would pop up in my 'completed application' list or not (I called in to LSAC when I sent in the app to pay the report fee in advance of their requesting it, so I'm not expecting to get a bill once they do request it).

Has anyone else out there applied to Yale? If so, have you heard anything back yet re: going complete, missing paperwork, etc.? I know Yale says that they don't like students pestering them with e-mails and phone calls, so any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm in the same boat. Fedexed the app, saw it was signed for, but haven't heard anything and they haven't requested the LSDAS report yet. Would love to know they received it for sure...

I have the same issue. Sent my application by priority mail last Tuesday. Never received an email, no LSAC report was requested. I called the admissions office monday, and spoke to a very unhelpful individual who sounded like a student. Quite arrogant. Called the next day, spoke to a very helpful female staff member who told me that Yale has been having significant issues with their transfer applications, that many students were having challenges applying, that several staff members had been out for several weeks, and that they were activating the online LSAC transfer application as of today. However, when I checked this morning it was not online.

FWIW, I tracked my application via USPS, and it was received June 2. The check I mailed with the application has yet to be cashed. Strange stuff.

As they don't do rolling review, I would guess the admissions office just waits until after the deadline to do a single, massive LSDAS request.

Well, my eating and lack-of-exercise habits during 1L took care of the weight requirement.

So...anyone heard anything yet? Status checker? E-mail saying "we've received your app?"

You said that about Cardozo. Maybe I should throw in an app for Yale.

Any progress from Yale?

I haven't gotten any word from them, but last week I looked on LSAC and saw that the Yale application was available (assume this is the LSDAS report request) so I submitted it.

I received two emails today in the course of about 90 seconds, the first saying they had the application and the second saying my app was complete and they'd next communicate when they have a decision. They also said "We expect to render decisions on transfer applications during the latter half of the week of July 18 and the early half of the week of July 25."
