Top 3-5% Lower T-2 Chances

Post by katertot74 » Tue Jun 21, 2011 6:05 pm

Lower T-2 in Northern CA
Top 3-5%
Good softs (not that they matter much)

What do you think my chances are at:

Berkeley
Columbia
NYU
Fordham
Cardozo
Northwestern
U Chicago

I have good reasoning for transferring to NYC - my partner is moving there for a fellowship at NYU. Also I am from the midwest so I figure I might as well send out an App to the Chi area schools since I am going through this process anyway.

I like your odds at Fordham and Cardozo. No on Columbia and NYU, but maybe the partner helps you at NYU so who knows..

Maybe a stretch, but would've been worth the app fee to try Boalt. That ship's sailed, though: Deadline = June 15.

If you did apply, good luck!

Sure....

Good LOR's
3 years solid work experience in and outside of the legal field including a well known tech company
Good overcoming adversity experience due to family situation
In undergrad involved in social justice and race relationship programs which is in line w/ my future goals in law and was in line w/ one of Berkeley's clinics and programs.
I also attend a Bay Area T-2 and I really think that helped a lot that has sent many transfers to Berkeley in the past. I honestly think this one was the biggest push for me.
