cornell's lame anyway.YZH wrote:I will say this though, I was in at Cornell on July 13 and b/c it was after their July 8 cut-off for the August Job Fair in NYC, I couldn't attend. That fair is where I'd say 75% if not more of their recruiting takes place. Only about 15-20 firms actually come to Ithaca for OCI. I know Skadden and Weil were going to their OCI, but it's still a lottery, so you're not guaranteed to interview with them. I talked to everyone possible: Deans, directors of admissions and career services, etc. etc., and to no avail. Because they have run the lottery for the Fair, there was no way I could be a part of it. Very reluctantly and with a heavy heart, I couldn't accept Cornell's offer of admission. Instead, I'm off to Northwestern. So just as a word of caution, if Cornell's your only yes, it might very well be better than your current school. But if you've gotten in somewhere else in the T14, I'd think long and hard about that school and perhaps take Cornell off your list.KafkaLover wrote:I'm UR there since 7/19 - turned out my school didn't send materials and that was the reason for the delay. You're not alone, but I don't know what's up with them unfortunately.stjohns wrote:does anyone know anything about Cornell? ive been under review there for about 3 weeks?is that basically a no?

Re: T14 Transfer Status Change Thread
Just checked Stanford status check... says "Decision Letter Sent" and "Full time day" in program time. I had been complete since 6/30 or so... anyone else with a similar status change? I'm top 4-5% at a T2 in the 70's so Stanford seems like a reach....

Mine says decision letter sent now, also. I think it's bad news.notsopatient wrote:Just checked Stanford status check... says "Decision Letter Sent" and "Full time day" in program time. I think that's good. I'm rooting for you! And hoping I might slip into your Chicago slot in your stead, should you move up.Transferthrowaway wrote:I'm STILL just submitted for review

Thinking about going to their admissions office on Thursday to pester them. Any thoughts on whether or not this is a good idea?

Chances of CLS decisions today? Submitted over 3 weeks ago, been complete for a week, and OCI starts in 3 weeks. Yep, no urgency at all

I think I got into NYU. Didn't check the mail today and I haven't looked at my status checker in weeks, but I just got an email from housing that said "congratulations on your acceptance." I didn't even know my app was complete.

Re: T14 Transfer Status Change Thread
Now that a new wave of NYU acceptances went out, I'll probably start up the "NYU Transfer Class" thread. I'm just waiting on my Columbia decision first. I'm pretty set on NYU after visiting, but I just gotta see this thing through until the end.

Those of you who still haven't heard back from S will probably find out August 1 or soon after, since that's the deadline for transfers to make their decisions. I just sent in my deposit yesterday!
