Chances T4 to GULC
I have already applied to GULC EA but am wondering what the chances are of
acceptance. I finished my first semester in the Top 3% (6/200) at my current
school in California. I also have some softs in addition to a Witkin's Book
Award for the top grade in Torts. However, I believe I have a compelling reason
for attending GULC. That is because my father has been fighting Chronic
Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and his condition has been deteriorating. I
explained to GULC that it would be essential to my success that I be near my
family and especially my father. Of course this is a major reason for wanting to
attend GULC, however, it is not my only reason. I also explained the lack of
opportunities at my current school in terms of pursuing a background in
Corporate Law and Securities Regulation. I know that I am by no means a shoe-in
but I would like to think that all things considered I have a shot.
Any input is appreciated.

Good chance, I think. You might get deferred, so keep up your grades through spring semester. Sorry to hear about your dad.

t4 transfers are always near impossible to predict because they are the most random (particularly when you are talking about t4-->t14). Nonetheless, I think you have a shot at GULC. Good luck.

Re: Chances T4 to GULC
Thanks everyone. Although I won't know for sure until the decision comes, it's still reassuring to hear the positive input. I hope that personal reasons have an impact, in terms of transfers. I also received an LOR from one of my professors who was the managing partner of the Paul Hastings law firm, so that should hopefully add some strength to my application.

EA...maybe? Im not quite sure as sure as everyone else seems to be. You are most definitely in RD if you keep your rank up this semester.

I think you have an excellent chance, but you should apply to GW as well to be on the safe side.
