When does everyone get their 1L grades/rank? Forum

Do most schools release 1L grades and rank around the same time?

I just found out that our grades will be released June 17, but rank won't be available until June 29.

It seems like this is very late for any student interested in applying to transfer. It appears that schools are okay with the transcript arriving late, and that they just want your transfer application in by June 1, but is June 29 really late?

Seems like other applicants will be complete and reviewed before my rank is even reported.

You should be able to estimate where you stand either by your school's curve alone or by the first semester's and prior years' cut-offs.

the only time consuming part is letters of rec, as long as you get those in motion and have them by the deadline, the other stuff isn't usually due until July 1st or 15th, and just need to be mailed over.

Your application must be completed by the deadline. Spring grades/rankings though are not due by the deadline (earlier the better) since the transfer school is aware you don't control when you get them.
