Does anyone know when EA decisions are communicated? I looked at the website at it said the first week of April. I didn't know if anyone knew based on last year if this was the actual timeline, or if it took longer.

Last year I don't believe there was an EA application at WUSTL. Good luck to all of you.lsltyf wrote:Does anyone know when EA decisions are communicated? Re: WUSTL EA transfer thread
It's done by email. I got a rejection email from them literally 3 hours after I submitted my application, which was kind of ridiculous (I was #2 at a t3 and there were for sure no mistakes/bad answers re: character and fitness questions). People who got actually got in or at least serious consideration got their emails a bit later (I think somewhere around mid-april if I recall correctly). I applied there 2 years ago (the last time they had EA apps).lsltyf wrote:Does anyone know when EA decisions are communicated? I looked at the website at it said the first week of April. Thanks for the info. Did you apply late? Did they ding you before the last day to submit?XxSpyKEx wrote:It's done by email. Re: WUSTL EA transfer thread
has anyone gone complete? I received an e-mail from admissions requesting my LORs. I sent when I got them (some weeks ago). Since then my status checker hasn't changed.

No prob. I applied at like 5AM the morning the application opened up. They dinged me about 3-4 hours later (around 8 or 9AM on the day applications opened up).lsltyf wrote:Thanks for the info. WUSTL rejected you, but you got NYU? That just confirms transfer apps are ultra-strange.XxSpyKEx wrote:No prob. I applied at like 5AM the morning the application opened up. They dinged me about 3-4 hours later (around 8 or 9AM on the day applications opened up).

I wonder if you got dinged possibly from a system glitch since you applied at 5AM and the app opened up at 8AM that day. Seems a little odd you were rejected from WUSTL and were accepted at NYU. I feel like this was system glitch. Did you ever ask anyone at WUSTL about it?

Re: WUSTL EA transfer thread
I've logged into the status checker website, and it indicates that my applications is "Received." Does a received application = complete application, or will my status actually change to the word "complete" when they consider it completed?
My status check email said, "Please be patient with our review process as we do not have rolling admissions" so I'm honestly not expecting my decision until early April.

Not sure where this NYU thing came in from. I didn’t transfer to NYU. I actually didn’t even apply there because I don’t want NYC. I don’t really want to say where I go to school, but I got into the best school I applied to. If I could go back and do it again, I would have applied to HYS because a kid at my t3 got into HLS (he was #1, but I think I would have had a fighting chance against him being at #2)... I'm just saying this to tell everyone that's applying from lower ranked schools to not sell themselves short and to apply to schools that they otherwise think is just not possible (assuming you have exceptional grades and think you can’t get into X school because of the USnews ranking of your current school)lsltyf wrote:No prob. I wouldn’t read anything into my ding at WUSTL. The adcomm was extremely shady about everything and I really don’t know what happened, but it was generally a bad experience. After I got dinged right away, I sent an email to WUSTL asking for a reason why I got dinged and brought up my class rank and that the website said a typical successful transfer student is in the top 15-20% of their class. They just emailed me back and told me that they couldn’t give me a reason, which wasn’t surprising (most schools won’t do this). But they got really shady after the 2nd semester. After grades came out I called them like 4 times during regular business hours across the period of 2.5 weeks and they only picked up once, and I also sent several emails inquiring about whether I could be reconsidered for RD. The time they picked up they told me they would inquire about it and get back to me later that day. When I called them 2.5 weeks and left another voicemail, they sent me an email like 10 minutes after my phone call telling me that they could not reconsider my application and they could not tell me why. They were incredibly sketchy about everything. I’m not really sure why, but it was really weird. All in all, though, it really doesn’t matter because if I had gotten in EA, it would just have been a waste of a $700 seat deposit (or whatever it is).

I don't know why I thought you went to NYU for some strange reason. That's my fault. Sorry!
But you did transfer to a T14 and a school better-ranked than WUSTL, right?
