Transfer Prospects...?
Just got grades. Top 20% at a T1 school in the 30s. Do I have a chance at moving up? I'm geographically focused on the East/Midwest (sorry westside, but there IS an eastcoast bias).
Most people on here are posting their top 1-5% grades and asking if they can transfer. What about someone in my scenario at a fairly decent school with decent, but not spectacular grades?
Thanks for any input!

UCLA/Vandy is possible, great shot at anything below that. Don't waste your time with UT if you don't have significant ties to TX.

Re: Transfer Prospects...?
Top 20% won't allow you to move up far enough to justify a transfer (IMHO). Unless you kill it second semester and move into 10-15% range, you are better off staying put.

This is TCR. You can likely transfer up, but not to a school that would make it worth doing so.concurrent fork wrote:Top 20% won't allow you to move up far enough to justify a transfer (IMHO). Unless you kill it second semester and move into 10-15% range, you are better off staying put.

Cosigned, unless you don't make LR. Then it might be worth it if you get into the right school. Either way, you should likely stay put.vanwinkle wrote:This is TCR. Btw WUSTL has an non-binding EA transfer program this year, might be worth submitting an app if you're shooting for the midwest. If you're not in your desired market, transfer to get closer to it.
