How does transferring work for PT students?
If a student is PT their 1L, and switch over to FT, are they still eligible to transfer?

Are you saying if you do 1l part time, 2l full time, could you then transfer? Probably not. However as far as PT student transferring, I am currently writing a long, long post on the topic and will post it in the TLS competition forum by the end of the night

No, I am saying if a 1L completes his 1L PT, but transfers to FT and takes summer classes to catch up with the credits (this is all before 2L begins), would he be eligible to transfer? Also, would you have the necessary credits after completing 1L PT to transfer?stinger35 wrote:Are you saying if you do 1l part time, 2l full time, could you then transfer? Probably not. Hypothetical:
Gtown PT 1L student completes:
Fall PT
Spring PT
Can he transfer at this point?
If not,
What about after completing a summer session which would give him the same credits as a FT 1L student?

What you have described is what I have just done. There are no simple answers to your questions. They will be answered to the best of my ability in my post tonight which will be as comprehensive as possible.

FYI, two PT Fordham students are transferring to NYU this cycle, myself included, so it is possible. But you have to call the admissions office and make a compelling case or else they won't consider you. I also imagine you need higher grades than the FT transfers. We both had 3.9+. Also, obviously we both took summer school to get to the 28 credit minimum. I think sometimes NYU will do it and most times they won't.

Good to know. I'll enter that in my post. Really interesting and just furthers the points I stressed. Congrats by the way!ZXCVBNM wrote:FYI, two PT Fordham students are transferring to NYU this cycle, myself included, so it is possible. If that's a self tar, it'll work real good. Just show up to the admissions office of the school you want to transfer to and smile, and Yale will open its doors right open to you.jdhopeful11 wrote:How does transferring work for PT students?
