I have been lucky enough to get accepted into UCLA and Davis (Transferring from a No. Cal t2). I likely looking to Practice either in the Bay Area, San Jose or Sac. I have poked around and there is not that many UCLA grads kickin around NoCal, but this could be due to self-selection. For anyone familiar with the CA market, I would like opinions on UCLA ability to place outside of SoCal.
Thanks!

Re: Transfer: California Market Question
Hey there, congrats on your acceptances. I attended Hastings for 1L and worked in sf this summer. Take my advice with a grain of salt as it's mostly generalizations drawn from one perspective. I've met no one at the fed dist ct in sf that goes to Davis. But as for firms, you should check nalp. I'm currently externing with someone from ucla -- she won't have any problem making it to sf from their oci. Davis dumps into sac for the most part. IMO, ucla is the better choice for sf and sj. For sac it's probably a draw. I'd choose ucla, it leaves you with at least the option for socal. Good luck!

FYI for UCLA the OCI deadline was yesterday - if that would make a difference to you. I still think UCLA would have better placement from just spamming firms though.

UCLA is the way to go. You need to have as many doors open as possible. Davis is great, but if you end up changing your mind and do not want to work in Nor. Cal then at least at UCLA you will have more options. Not to say that you will not at Davis, but UCLA is not considered a regional school.
