Congratulations! If you don't mind me asking, why did you decide to transfer? Those stats + I'm sure you graded onto LR make you a MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE (all caps required). Are you afraid of rocking the boat and starting fresh? Obviously employers will still see your transcripts, so it's not like you're completely throwing it away, but still, I'd be a little nervous!

^^ Thank you for the kind words, although I'm not sure that's really accurate :-)

Not sure if I'm going to transfer for the reasons you just suggested. I have some thinking to do this weekend... If I decide not to go, I promise I'll withdraw immediately to help you guys out.

u don't start all over and you could've competed for SLR. Plus plenty of ppl at SLS get amazing COA clerkships w/o LR. Plus people who transferred did very well in OCI and getting clerkships. They might have had the same success as they did at their old school but they might not have. If you're not getting money at your old school you might not be losing much by transferring. You still have plenty of time to make connections (quarter system = 3 sets of professors to choose from).

Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.

I certainly didn't mean to come across sounding like arstech could anticipate a bad outcome no matter what he decides to do. Really, I more was wondering what gave you the impetus to transfer in the first place?

Feel free to PM me with questions - I transferred to SLS last year, have gone through the Law Review, OCI, and clerkship processes, and would love to help out in any way that I can.

Congrats to both of you on your acceptances.

arstech -
With Stanford's willingness to allow transfer students onto LR, I think Stanford would be a great opportunity for you. Although I have no proof, I would think that stating you were near the top of your class at a T14 and transferred to Stanford would be more appealing to future employers than someone who attended Stanford as a 1L and received mediocre scores.

Sigh... if only there were a way we could trade acceptance offers.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
