Has anybody been rejected from Harvard yet?
Just wondering if we were all still waiting or if they've made rejections as well as the accepts that have been mentioned.

Re: Has anybody been rejected from Harvard yet?
I'm not sure. Looking at past years, it seems like they didn't do rejections until August.
The TLS acceptance count is up to what, five now? Even assuming a low percentage of people report their acceptances, there still should be a good number remaining.
At least that's what I keep telling myself!

Those of you waiting on HYS - are you withdrawing from other schools? Or putting seat deposits down elsewhere just in case? I have to imagine that with deadlines coming up (Boalt, CLS, Penn, other?) some tough decisions are being made...

HYS controls the dominos; as soon as they make their picks, the other schools can make picks.

? No, I guess I mean for people who have already been picked by other schools, what they're planning on doing with deadlines/ giving those schools a yes or no...hedging their bets on HYS, or putting down a seat deposit elsewhere and withdrawing from HYS, or putting down a seat deposit elsewhere but con't to hope for HYS...?PDaddy wrote:HYS controls the dominos; as soon as they make their picks, the other schools can make picks.

Re: Has anybody been rejected from Harvard yet?
I think I'm unfortunately already rejected because I inquired why my status still remains "Ready for Review" ever since a long time ago and the officer replied that it means it will be shortly be submitted to review but I will receive an EMAIL after a decision is made. I understand they only give the admission by phone calls, and reject letters by email.

I think you are right. Thanks. But the longer there is no news after completion, the less likely the news will be good. But definitely hope everyone here have something to gain from this process.betasteve wrote:My guess there is they are just being generic. I wouldn't read much into that, at all.okeitherway wrote:I think I'm unfortunately already rejected because I inquired why my status still remains "Ready for Review" ever since a long time ago and the officer replied that it means it will be shortly be submitted to review but I will receive an EMAIL after a decision is made. Nothing since Monday. It seems like the initial round of admits is finished and now we wait until people withdraw/miss deposit deadline. Or the admits this week simply don't post on TLS. Any thoughts?

Historically the bulk - well, all - of the admissions have come later. They take a pretty large transfer class, which means, given Yale and Stanford, perhaps twice as large an admit pool, so I don't think the 3 or 4 TLSers who posted they got in could possibly represent the entire TLS population of ultimate Harvard admits.

As idle chit-chat, does anyone have a theory predicting whether (more or most) decisions will be out by next Friday? I have to commit to law review at my current school by the 23rd, and it would suck to have to withdraw applications...lstudent22 wrote:bump

I was hoping for significant movement today...
I'd definitely bet on some significant movement by next Friday.

Haven't you gotten into Yale though? You're still considering between the two?dbt wrote:I haven't gotten any new word from Harvard and I went "Ready for Review" on July 12th.

Yea. I'm not considering between the two, but I thought anyone that went ready for review around this time and hasn't heard anything shouldn't be worrying about a rejection yet. My friend has also been "ready for review" for I guess a week or so longer and has similar numbers/school.Machine Spirit wrote:Haven't you gotten into Yale though?
