Re: in at Harvard
Looks like they are accepting earlier this year than in the past. Did they mention anything about OCI or Fin Aid? I know HLS gives grants based on need.
Edit: So your status checker actually switched from "ready to review" to "under review"?

Re: in at Harvard
Congratulations. I was just wondering, how does a person respond to a call like that? What did you say? Was it a calm thank you, or "WOW REALLY?" - trying to hide the excitement while jumping for joy kind of situation?
I'd feel like OMG my life is complete, but don't really know what I'd say to convey that... appropriately.

Can you clarify? You went "Ready for Review" late last week and then "Under Review" on 7/1? That does not make sense to me unless late last week = weds.yellowjacket2012 wrote:7/1/10 <-- app under review
Also Congrats!!

Re: in at Harvard
sorry - when i said ready for review, i meant under review, the 7/1/10 'under review' status is from the LSAC status checker website, the 'ready for review' comment i made was from my own head, disregard thatconcurrent fork wrote:Can you clarify? Re: in at Harvard
I think everybody's confused because the HLS status checker actually uses the language "Ready for Review," so what people want to know is whether you ever went from "Ready for Review" to "Under Review." I'm guessing not.yellowjacket2012 wrote:sorry - when i said ready for review, i meant under review, the 7/1/10 'under review' status is from the LSAC status checker website, the 'ready for review' comment i made was from my own head, disregard thatconcurrent fork wrote:Can you clarify? Re: in at Harvard
Could you post when your status checker went "Application Ready for Review?"
Most people have posted that they started with "Application Received," then "Application Ready for Review." You are the first I've heard of who's status checker actually said "Application Under Review."
I'm curious as to how long it took from when you went complete (i.e. "Application Ready for Review") to "Application Under Review."
Thanks!

Re: in at Harvard
sorry, i confused myself throughly, the ready language is from the website, under must've been something i made up:
this is the paste:
Term: Fall Year: 2010
Program Time: Full Time Degree: JD
Current Status: Application Ready for Review
Current Status Date: 7/1/2010
So I never went "under review", got a phone call straight up.

in response to PM's:
No idea @ class standing/class rank, but my best guesstimate would be top 5%-10%
phone call was as short as the berkeley dean tom call, quick congrats, said package will be sent in mail, supposed to get an email about some other stuff. so status checker has a status date of july 1, and its july 9, not sure why that hasnt changed

It is reassuring that few others seem to have gotten calls yet. Hopefully there will be many more in the next week...slayerbtvs wrote:anyone else get a call? Do they do these as they come in or is this likely a big batch?

Re: .
Dunno what's going on with the thread title, but I'm gonna assume this is still the harvard admit thread. In this morning at 11:30 via phone call. I want to tell everyone my numbers because I know you all are neurotically looking for information about your odds like I was. 3.81 from lower T14, (one of DCNG), approx top 5% or a little higher. Little to no softs at all. Went to a pretty crappy undergrad. Submitted 4 good letters of rec, 2 from law profs, 2 from my original app. Didn't know the law profs well, can't imagine the letters were much above average. Application went "ready for review" on 6/21, never went "under review" in fact it STILL says ready for review after the phone call. Hope this helps.

Re: .
removed it because i didn't want to make this the harvard admits thread, i might not be going for personal reasons, but - fwiw, same situation as you, status checker's still at "ready for review" - although my status date was 7/1, pretty much same stats as you, northwestern 1L.
hoping to get into stanford, their office is on vacation or something, are you applying there too?
