i'm not complete yet. I heard they were a tad backlogged? Either way, they said they'd notify me of missing materials, and i've heard nothing.

I'm complete. Not complete at NYU. This week would be great so that I could make an informed decision with Berkeley.

Got the complete email fairly late last night; they must be burning the midnight oil trying to get everyone's file together.
Did everyone else have this line in their complete email: "Good luck in the admissions process and we hope to welcome you here as a member of the Class of 2012!" I know it's just a pleasantry, but it seems almost too optimistic. I would hate to have that said to me only to be rejected.

Mine had the same line, except "2013" lol. Yeah, instills some false hope in ya...EggShellPlaintiff wrote:Got the complete email fairly late last night; they must be burning the midnight oil trying to get everyone's file together.

No, you must be a "wanted applicant." Mine said, "Thanks for the application fee, don't get your hopes up."EggShellPlaintiff wrote:Got the complete email fairly late last night; they must be burning the midnight oil trying to get everyone's file together.

Re: Official Columbia Transfer Thread
I just got a sort of odd request from Columbia to "provide a detailed explanation" of my path from high school to graduation at collage. This seems a little odd. Perhaps it is because I went to night school? Thoughts?

Were you complete prior to this request (received the 'app complete' email)?luthersloan wrote:I just got a sort of odd request from Columbia to "provide a detailed explanation" of my path from high school to graduation at collage. Re: Official Columbia Transfer Thread
I think I submitted everything by the end of June, but the status checker still says that I'm incomplete.
Specifically, it has the recommendation box unchecked (but each of the individual recommendations checked below it) and for the LSDAS Report, it says "Complete and copy requested from LSAC". Is anybody else in this situation? Did anyone contact the office yet?
How long did it take before everyone went complete?

I'm still not complete. However, note that transferapps says that many people get accepted within a day or two of completion, or sometimes even before they ever officially go complete.

Don't go by the status checker, apparently it can take up to 2 weeks for them to update. I went complete a little bit ago, but my status checker still shows a few of the boxes as unchecked. I'd call in if I were you guys.

Re: Official Columbia Transfer Thread
E-mail from Columbia, dated November 2008: "application is complete . . . hope to welcome you to class of 2012."
E-mail from Columbia, dated June 2010: "application is complete . . . hope to welcome you to class of 2012."
Two identical e-mails for the same class of 2012, separated by 20 months. Something about this juxtaposition makes me sad about the prospect of not getting in. I could've had two kids in this in-between period! lol

This is awesome. If you don't get in, you should totally e-mail this to the admissions department as a big F-you.berkcol wrote:E-mail from Columbia, dated November 2008: "application is complete . . . hope to welcome you to class of 2012."

Nah, while its kinda quirky that their boilerplate emails are unchanged over the years, I'll just take a ding as a motivation for me to work like a monster at Berkeley. While I'm not sure there's a substantial difference between opportunities out of Boalt vs. Columbia, NYC has been my dream city forever, and Columbia has been my dream school forever.

Same situation. By 6/23 all of my boxes were checked on the status checker and still says incomplete. Emailed admissions yesterday at received this email:addicted wrote:I think I submitted everything by the end of June, but the status checker still says that I'm incomplete.

I think they just have a sclerotic status checker. I wouldn't worry too much about what it says. It looks like historically if you're getting in you'll know by the 15th, regardless of how late you went complete.
