I would consider putting the top 10% and 33% cutoffs right on your resume, in addition to your own GPA.DeseoQueSea wrote:My current school is one that only ranks top 10%, then top 33% and then top 50%. If they provide numerical rankings to go with the percentiles, then you should be fine. Does your school say you're, for example, 11/100?

Nope, they only rank the top 10.documentaryjunkie wrote:DeseoQueSea wrote:My current school is one that only ranks top 10%, then top 33% and then top 50%. If they provided numerical rankings, could Deseo determine his/her percentile extremely accurately?documentaryjunkie wrote:DeseoQueSea wrote:My current school is one that only ranks top 10%, then top 33% and then top 50%. I assume you're being sarcastic, however, just thought I'd point it out because Deseo may have overlooked.MrKappus wrote:If they provided numerical rankings, could Deseo determine his/her percentile extremely accurately?documentaryjunkie wrote:DeseoQueSea wrote:My current school is one that only ranks top 10%, then top 33% and then top 50%. Nothing about my post is sarcastic.documentaryjunkie wrote:I assume you're being sarcastic, however, just thought I'd point it out because Deseo may have overlooked.MrKappus wrote:If they provided numerical rankings, could Deseo determine his/her percentile extremely accurately?
Edit: OOPS. That should have read "...couldn't Deseo determine blah blah blah." Now I see why it mayv'e come across as sarcasm.
Deseo: this is not rocket science (or calculus), thank god. Put 10/33% cutoffs on your resume.

I am thoroughly depressed. I applied to 3 schools and got rejected by Berkeley today (a reach, didn't expect it). However, I was complete weeks ago at UCLA and haven't heard back, although schools received my official rank this week. But, people were admitted from my school already! It's so disheartening to face getting rejected for the second year in a row.

Yup. It's all their fault.doublethink wrote:I am thoroughly depressed. I applied to 3 schools and got rejected by Berkeley today (a reach, didn't expect it). Also, I really need to gripe. It pisses me off when people who weren't even passionate about your number one school or even about transferring take your spot. Even worse, people reserving their spot and paying deposits while not withdrawing elsewhere. They are screwing me over!

Re: The "In Nowhere" Club
Does anyone know W&L's transfer app deadline? I should have applied here, as they seem to give an acceptance out to everybody and their grandmother. Feelin' the pressure of batting 0.00 this late in the game. Don't know if it'd be worth it to transfer, but maybe worth the app for the option, I don't know.

1 WL, 0 Acceptances. And now 9 days to homelessness. If anyone is leaving a NY apartment behind in their own transfers, I may be able to take it off your hands. Still debating how long to ride the GULC waitlist.

Alright, let's take votes. How many people think I'm going to get any news this week other than my Vandy ding in the mail?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
