Has anyone gone complete without their rankings posted yet?

Post by jltransfer » Tue Jun 29, 2010 1:07 am

Hey, I was wondering if anyone else is in the same position as me. I've submitted all my application materials but my school told me they will not release the first year rankings until the middle of July at the earliest. I've received mixed signals from different schools I've applied to, with some saying they will review my application without the ranking (which doesn't make sense since a GPA in one school can place you in a totally different ranking than another school) and others saying they won't make a decision until I receive my ranking. Is anyone else in a similar predicament and if so, can you tell me what steps you're taking to ensure your application goes under review? I'm just afraid that by the time my ranking comes out and I can send it to the adcoms, most of the spots will be taken up already. Thank you in advance for your help. Good luck everyone!!

It's likely that people from your school have applied in the past and that schools have a good idea of what your ranking is based on your grades.

I am in the same boat as you (my rankings will not be available until the first week of July). However, my current school posts the last two years of rankings as public information, so I sent those in as electronic attachments to my applciation to give schools an idea of where I am in the B- median curve. Hope that helps.
