Stanford doesn't consider unofficial transcripts and grade reports, right?

From my experience, they're happy enough to accept them but won't make a decision based on them.AOI87 wrote:Stanford doesn't consider unofficial transcripts and grade reports, right?

App: early Maypandacot wrote: When did you have all your items in?
Dean's Statement: May
LORs: late May and early June, respectively
Unofficial grades: mid June
Official Transcript: requested from my school the week before last; probably received at SLS last week
For what little it's worth, I think kings84_wr is probably right in terms of the timeline for decisions being returned.

Re: Stanford
I love that "most" language used in the App Complete email, since most decisions will be rejects. (Historically, SLS waits until August to email out rejection letters.) I agree that the coveted admissions offers will come 3d week of july.

Has anyone who applied not gotten the complete email yet? I'm still waiting for it.

Egg I doubt you're the only one. If you've got everything in, it will come. Probably soon. Good luck.

Re: Stanford
Received e-mail today that my file is complete. Ugh, ugh... the waiting. On the brighter side, I got into U Mich. However, I don't think I'll transfer unless I get into Stanford.
Good luck all.

You'd rather stay at Toledo than go to Michigan?

Re: Stanford
Michigan is not an absolute no, but I really have my aim set on Stanford. I've struggled with the thought of transferring, and I'll gladly talk to you about my reasons in a PM. I'm always open to suggestions and input.

Looks like complete apps will be read/reviewed next week, during the SLS shutdown.
And then adcom will be back in regular business mode the following week.

Nice find. I wonder if Dean Faye will be sipping mojitos on the beach while reading our personal statements. Sand pouring out of her files, Justice Stevens style, when she returns to the office on Monday.kinggps wrote:http://blogs.law.stanford.edu/admission ... -vacation/

Just wondering... did any Stanford applicants send a letter to Dean Kramer fighting for acceptance?

Haha, I don't know the answer to this, but I think that everyone else who is applying should. And make sure that you include a picture of yourself doing a keg stand to let them know that you bring not just academic prowess to the table.pandacot wrote:Just wondering... did any Stanford applicants send a letter to Dean Kramer fighting for acceptance?

Also make sure to include any TLS postings that show lack of wit. Remember, SLS takes pity on the witless.arstech wrote:Haha, I don't know the answer to this, but I think that everyone else who is applying should. Re: Stanford
Mmm, touché. But anyway, I can't imagine that writing a letter to someone who already has to read a giant stack of applications is productive. Of course, one should never take advice from the witless.pandacot wrote:Also make sure to include any TLS postings that show lack of wit. Re: Stanford
Giant stack of applications? Sure. Dean Kramer sending a return email from my posturing? Sure.
I don't want to get into a flame war, but I think that any applicant to HYS should push as hard as they can for acceptance. The transfers are competitive, and why not try to get an edge? Could work or could fail...
EDIT: to concede a little, I would say that sending Dean Kramer an email now will probably not help as much. I sent an email a month ago or more when times were probably not so busy.

Re: Stanford
That's rational. I guess I just don't see what information you'd convey to them that wouldn't be more appropriately placed in your personal statement.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
