Transfer Grades

Post by heraclitus » Fri Jun 04, 2010 4:03 am

Has anyone successfully contacted profs to give out individual grades even if he hasn't finished them for the class...
Does anyone recommend doing this?
My profs seem to be taking ages to submit grades. Transfer deadlines are approaching and although I've submitted transfer apps, im still waiting for the transcript wf second sem grades.
Anyone on the same boat as me?

Check your school's rules. Many schools consider it an honor code violation to speak with a prof between exams and before grades are officially posted. I would contact the registrar instead, and ask them when the grades will be posted.

For now, contact the transfer schools and tell them you will FAX an unofficial transcript as soon as the grades are posted.

If your school is one that purposely takes forever to post grades to prevent transfers you might be screwed.

It's also probably impossible to get your grade if the prof hasn't finished grading the whole class. If he grades according to a curve, he probably assigns raw scores to all the exams, then fits the raw scores to the curve. He can't do that unless he has graded all the exams.

Your school doesn't use exam numbers? I assumed anonymous grading was fairly standard in law school...
