Hi, I am currently a 1l at UC Davis in the top 5% based on fall grades. I am considering transferring to UCLA. If you transferred there, please please share your experience. How is the job hunt? What do you like and not like about UCLA? Would you do it over again/ was it worth it?
Is it worth giving up may rank at Davis to try for UCLA?
Will this be enough of a benefit employment-wise to justify making the transfer?
Pros/cons?
Any advice from people even if you are not at UCLA or a transfer, please weigh in
Thanks!

You should be looking to shoot higher than UCLA, just FYI. You're not planning to limit yourself to that school, are you?

Agreed. If you maintain top 5% I think you are as close to a lock as one can be at Berk, and I would imagine it is worth throwing in an app at Stanford, too.ToTransferOrNot wrote:You should be looking to shoot higher than UCLA, just FYI. I posted a bunch about my job opportunities coming in as a transfer to UCLA. Look through my previous posts (there aren't too many) and feel free to pm me if you have any specific questions.

I would apply to the most elite schools you are interested in (including HYS) and consider UCLA as a backup. If you perform well on your spring exams and move up in class rank, you could be T6 bound. Its worth a shot, right?
