LOR question

Post by mrgth51453 » Thu Apr 22, 2010 4:18 pm

I understand Stanford has their own form for LORs, that must go directly to the school.... do the other top schools (harvard, yale, columbia) have similar procedures or can the letters in that case just be sent through LSAC like initial application?

Also, are letters of recommendation very significant? I'm top 2% at top 25 school, but none of the professors I ask are going to know me very well... do I have any chance of transferring to harvard, yale, columbia, chicago... etc, even if the recommendations are somewhat generic?

Sorry if this stuff gets asked all the time, thanks!

With those numbers, do not be timid about applying to T6. I think LORs matter more for transfer than regular admissions, but those are great stats and you are going to have a very good chance, even at HYS, IMO. Good luck.

S is the only Unique LOR form that I have encountered, LSAC Lor's are fine with HY for sure

Hey, Thanks for the replies and info... I can safely say I hope this is the last time I ever have to go through an application process like law school...
