Current School's Rank and Transfer
I just got my grades back, and I did pretty well. I'm from a T2, which is ranked in the 80s. I almost received a 4.0, with nothing lower than an A-. Anyways, I feel that I'm a lock-in at GULC. However, I'm debating whether to do ED at Chicago. I would be thrilled at an acceptance there, and I would go to Chicago wholeheartedly. But do I have any legitimate chance at Columbia, NYU or Boalt? If so, is it worth it to forgo the ED at Chicago? Anyone who has gone through this experience before, I would appreciate your input.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Same situation. I wouldn't say almost a 4.0, but I should be top 5%. I want to go to Chicago, but I'll be fine with GTown. I'm doing ED at both, but concerned that the reputation of my current school might keep me out of Chicago.

Are you seriously going to make me write out "EA at GULC and ED at UChicago"? Well, I guess I just did.dgouzoul wrote:o rlychitown825 wrote:Same situation. Around 15% 15-18 applying EA for Georgetown. I really want to be in DC. I'm thinking about Chicago but don't know if my rank is good enough. Its hard to find info on my school or any school between 15-18

I feel like transferring is a shot in the dark. Although everyone keeps telling me I'm a lock at GULC with top 10% from a top 100 school.

Yeah, no one at my school really has any idea since less than 10 people transfer out a year. I also wonder how long it takes for Gtown to get back to you...I don't want to find out right before exams...

Re: Current School's Rank and Transfer
yeah, I'm going to apply in Feb. so hopefully I'll be able to find out a little earlier.
People make it sound easy to transfer in. I know they take around 100 kids but there are alot of law schools and thus alot of kids doing well in law school who might want to transfer. My buddy here is around my rank, maybe a little better, and he also is looking to go to Gtown

I'm not talking to anybody about my grades or my transfer considerations. I don't want to give anybody any ideas.
Well hey, I hope to see you out there.
