I think you might be jumping to conclusions there. I got 4/23 and 4/24 status changes and haven't heard one way or the other yet. None of the 4/20s have heard yet either as far as I can tell. We just know that a few 4/23-4/24s got emails at the end of the day today, one of which was a confirmed acceptance, and most of which can't find out one way or the other.TTRansfer wrote:I am fairly sure that there were a few waves, but the way it went this time (with people who changed on any of the days after 4/20 getting in and NO one with 4/20 getting in), I think any 4/20 people are just SOL.Hoping5000 wrote:Does anyone remember if there was a second wave (or more) last year in the EA pool? Let's give it another day or two to get a bit more data.

There are two things you can be sure of, because they have remained consistent in previous cycle despite inconsistencies between cycles: (1) a status update followed by another status update is usually good. And (2) if you can generate/get emailed a un/pw, you are in.Xferr wrote:I think you might be jumping to conclusions there. Those who were accepted are not receiving emails from admissions. They are gaining usernames and passwords to the admitted student site. That has been conclusive in previous years to my knowledge. Just wanted to clarify that.Xferr wrote:I think you might be jumping to conclusions there. I got 4/23 and 4/24 status changes and haven't heard one way or the other yet. Thanks for the clarification. I can get a un/pw off that site - yay! Sorry for the misunderstanding earlier.Mce252 wrote:Those who were accepted are not receiving emails from admissions. Oh well, hopefully I'll hear something one way or another from GW or GT by April 30th. If not, I need to tell my boss I'm willing to do a stint overseas for career advancement. What's a semester/year off from a T4-PT law school when you can make extra money and have it be tax free in the grand scheme of things?

1. If you haven't heard back from GW yet, I'm pretty sure they're not going to force the April 30th deposit deadline on you. That would give you a turnaround of less than five days (as of today) -- not really fair.
2. You are aware that as an American citizen, you will still have to pay income tax on whatever you earn while abroad? (I'm 99% sure of this)

Pretty big assumption not knowing his profession or where he is working. Yes, those matter.DD352 wrote:Two things:lnllnl wrote:I like the attitude, TTTehehe! I'm feeling that way too.TTTehehe wrote:I don't think anyone cares anymore.aca0260 wrote:How many people get in EA vs RD?

Just an observation off of little data, but it seems like the acceptances so far covered all the tiers. Do TLS'ers put too much stock in the distinction between tiers when it comes to transferring, especially TT and TTT?

Re: Georgetown EA Applicants
I think most schools do, but Georgetown seems open-minded. My guess is that they feel the tippy-top students at even tier 4s are a great investment (Georgetown has consistently accepted students from my law school every year, not even necessarily with 4.0s). I don't know if other schools share the same outlook though. Certainly not HYS.GreatNorth87 wrote:Just an observation off of little data, but it seems like the acceptances so far covered all the tiers. Also, I just was.Jessuf wrote:I always thought that TTT and TTTT meant automatic deferral to RD despite ranking for GULC. Re: Georgetown EA Applicants
Okay. First time posting. I have a question for you guys. Just to check: we seem to be of the opinion that once you get access to the admitted students' website then you are accepted? To make sure I did this correctly, you go to the admitted student's website/click on no password/enter last name and email/they send you username and password/a day or two later you can get in. Is that right? I did that and got my email. However, I cannot log on to the site.
In sum, I suppose I am asking whether I should start celebrating yet or if it is still too early to tell?
I also just got access to the website. However, I pose the same question to you guys? Can I celebrate now or no?

Yep, just trying to add to the knowledge base. Unfortunately I can't really say how many GULC accepts from t4. Maybe they just like the top students at my school or something.Jessuf wrote:I was just going off of TLS data. Also yahoo transfer groups never says if T3/T4 people who applied EA got in EA or RD. And well, I also went off the fact that WUSTL immediately deferred me after my application went complete. I assumed GULC would do the same.Xferr wrote:I know that at least one person from my T4 law school were accepted to GULC last year via EA. Of course, I'm personally very pleased they don't limit themselves to T1/T2.

Jessuf, you got in at GULC and not yet at GW, right? That has to feel pretty great.Jessuf wrote:Barely anyone transfers out of my school. Maybe 5 people a year, and they mostly go to in-state schools. I was insanely surprised that of the people ranked #1-#5 at my school, I was the only one to apply to transfer EA somewhere.Xferr wrote: Yep, just trying to add to the knowledge base. Your dog is insanely cute, btw - I think that's why I remember your posts from the GW thread.

Re: Georgetown EA Applicants
Does anybody know whether acceptances/deferrals are received by email or actual mail? I was under the impression that acceptances came in the mail and bad news came in email. Did I just make that up?
I'm asking because I got into the admitted students' website and called to ask admissions if that was indicative of me being accepted and they said they don't know and cannot release decisions over the phone. (I'm assuming a decision was made though or they simply would have told me no decision has been made and I'm under review). I asked how I would be notified of the decision and they said by email.
Good or bad?
