I'm on Duke's transfer waitlist and was told a final decision would be made by this week - I'm really keeping my fingers crossed as I'm prepared to attend if admitted.gobearcats wrote:Anyone who got put on a transfer WL have any thoughts about the process and/or knows anyone who has gotten transfer admission through the waitlist?

Thanks for the condolensces. I still have one arrow left in the quiver (two, but one that might actually happen) and it would be just as good as a t14 to me, so, keep wishing me luck this week!patrickd139 wrote:apper123 wrote:A'nold wrote:Rejected at Emory.

Good luck to you! I hope these waitlists are small so it gives us a better shot!

Lol. I've been wondering that too. As far as I know, he's only got EA GULC. Wouldn't mind being treated to some more of tray though. It's always fun.ToTransferOrNot wrote:What ever happened with bakery roll boy? Did he get in anywhere?

He is still alive. TLS knowledge tells us he's in at Gtown, WL'd at Duke, and pending at NYU. I can't say anymore.

Dinged at Columbia too. Though I suppose keeping track of all of that is borderline creepy at this point.megaTTTron wrote:ToTransferOrNot wrote:What ever happened with bakery roll boy? Did he get in anywhere?

LOL @ "bakery roll boy." You are making him sound like a circus freak who is made out of dough.

I really do wonder if adcomms discovered him on this site. He did have a pretty bad cycle given his rather impressive numbers. But then again, what is the likelihood of 4 or 5 different committees finding him? They could easily be holding other things against him too - I believe his UGPA was pretty low.

Re: Official 2010 Transfer Cycle Results Thread
I actually do feel bad for him--his numbers should have gotten him in to some places that he didn't make it in to. Mega, the fact that you EDed and got in to Chicago probably sunk him here, just because I can't imagine Chicago taking two people from one school, given how small our class is.

Hey everyone. Some of us at the Cornell Transfers discussion board wanted to know if ANYONE had been admitted to Cornell yet. At least two of us are still "complete" and haven't heard anything. Just wanted to see if posters here might know of any news.

I wonder this as well. Though perhaps his personal statements weren't nearly as strong as he made them out to be. Self-aggrandizement seemed to be his thing, to some extent, lol.EggShellPlaintiff wrote:I really do wonder if adcomms discovered him on this site. This too. It just seems strange really, and adds to the overall suspicion that adcomms may actually frequent these boards.ToTransferOrNot wrote:I actually do feel bad for him--his numbers should have gotten him in to some places that he didn't make it in to.

Re: Official 2010 Transfer Cycle Results Thread
Withdrew from GULC yesterday (-ish. Just got to Europe, not sure what technically constitutes 'yesterday' anymore.) Was admitted after the EIW, Texas GRIP and journal write-on deadlines. Got a good thing going at my value-priced T2 and plan on getting my LLM in tax, regardless.
Thanks to all on TLS who helped shape the decision. Best of luck to those transferring to DC!
Edit: Mid-T2, top 6%, LR, 1/2 scholarship
