Deposit, but you also have to send a form that declares your intent to enroll. I sent them an e-mail to get clarification, because if it's not binding, I'll just fork over the $$$.
Also, part of the 6/20 crowd. On the east coast. T2, ~top 5%.

I was also one of the ones with the 6/20 status updates and I have access to the admitted student website but I have not yet recieved the packet. Was it sent to your permanent address or your current one?

i assume its not "binding" but they obviously keep your $800 if you don't go. You paying?
My dilemma... to pay or not to pay. I figure i have a good shot of getting into one of HCNPV, but i doubt i will find out before July 1st.

it came to my perm address, and just got to NY on friday. if you are farther away, you should get it tomorrow. also, it's not really a "packet" but just a small envelop with two pieces of paper: you're in, and pay up.

Ok thanks, yeah my perm. address is on the west coast so that is probably it. Did it go to other people's perm. address also?

If it's not binding, I'll just pay it to give me more time (the money isn't a concern). I'm really more interested in CNP + Cornell (and somewhat more interested in Mich and Northwestern), but I dunno what type of shot I have at any of them. I really want to practice in the northeast (NYC/NJ/Philly/Boston/CT) and I'm really concerned about striking out at OCI after taking on a boatload of debt. I may even just stay at my current school because I'd rather strike out with no debt than with $120k+ of debt.
My letter also went to my perm address (northeast) and was postmarked 6/20.

PT student checking in. Upper T2, 3.83 after spring semester. No ranking. Applied EA, was deferred, sent updated transcript, complete 6/14. Nothing since.
Edit: Applied to both FT/PT.

Did anyone in the 6/20 batch receive a letter on the westcoast yet? That's where I am and I have yet to receive one.

Same situation: 6/20 batch, west coast, no letter yet. Hopefully Monday but I'm gonna call them and ask for an extension. Even if it does come tomorrow, 5 days is just too short a time to be expected to make a decision. It's really unfair.

Yeah I agree. I am keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow too.

I applied EA and was deferred. Finally got all my grades last week (but no rank) and just received my acceptance today.
My stats were Top 5-10% (still unsure) at T1.

I have until Friday to decide which has put me in panic mode. I'm trying to figure out how good transfers do at GULC once they go there because it would totally suck to move to a good school and not get placed in the coming summer.

I'm also trying to decide if i should pay the GULC deposit and/or do the LR competition. I'm planning on waiting till the last possible minute to do both, in order to see if i get into one of the 5 T10 schools i applied.
anyone else in a similar situation?
I'm T1% at a east coast T2 in the 80s, so i figure there's a pretty good chance I'll get one of HCNPV. It's a hell of a gamble tho... and the deposit is only $800? I feel compelled to throw that down... ahh if only one school would get back to me ASAP
Also, is the consensus that all of the east coast T10 schools are significantly better than GULC for NYC Biglaw placement such that any of them are highly recommended over GULC?

For those who received a username and password, how long was it after your "application completed" date was updated before you could get a username and password for the admitted student site?
Mine just updated to 6/28, worried I might be denied but surprised that it would come this early with top 5% at T2.

I was able to get the UN/PW the same day that my date changed. Try today + later today + tomorrow. Also, keep in mind that if you get the UN/PW, it won't actually work for about 24 hours.

Waitlist wouldn't be that bad. I don't really want to make a decision this week. I guess a ding isn't the end of the world either. Makes the decision easier.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
