so I'm assuming you didn't do the write-on? Did any of the admits?lawyerkobe wrote:Yes. I was wondering who did the write on. Do people hear back from HLR before hearing back from admissions? If so, can one apply to HLS and put on their resume:
"Offered a spot on Harvard Law Review"???
(EDIT: And can one keep that on their resume even if they don't get accepted to HLS?????)

no, but people are speculating that hlr will make decisions by monday so if there are any more hls admits then they might find out about hlr before they find out about transferring.

Re: T14 Transfer Status Change Thread
I did the write-on and was admitted. Not expecting to make the cut for law review, as the competition started on the day of my last exam and my brain was basically in meltdown halfway through. The HLR competition ran concurrently with my school's competition, and I mentioned the fact that I chose to do the HLR competition over my school's competition in my PS.Fishmouse wrote: so I'm assuming you didn't do the write-on? I have no basis for this, but I'm inclined to think that participating in the competition does nothing more than signal how badly you want H in particular, rather than any one of HYS. In other words, I don't think it functions as much beyond a tie-breaker between applicants who are both already qualified for H.

Stanford releases decisions mid july so this week or next week is likely. This is what the law review staff told me back wehn I applied anyway. They have to organize the write on for transfers.bconly wrote:Any word on SLS? When will those decisions be handed down?!?!

I'm imagining what the wait must feel like for someone who knows that if (s)he gets accepted to HLS, (s)he will definitely be on the Harvard Law Review.Fishmouse wrote:no, but people are speculating that hlr will make decisions by monday so if there are any more hls admits then they might find out about hlr before they find out about transferring.

Does everyone who is "Ready for Review" at Harvard have the sentence "Your application to Harvard Law School is being “processed.” This means that we are assembling all required materials and checking for any missing items before we submit your application to the Admissions Committee for review" on their status pages?

Thanks. I know you'll break the T14 soon. I swear your numbers are better than mine, so I have no clue how you aren't getting anything unless your school pulled some shady stuff (but it's in the 50's, so I doubt they are that sketchy).ms2010 wrote:CONGRATS!keg411 wrote:In at Michigan via phone! We'll see. My grades were incredibly late (sent out just before July 4th weekend) which might have hurt me in the end. Also, my curve is kind of harsh so my GPA is lower than my rank suggests. The highest GPA in our class this year was a 3.8.keg411 wrote:Thanks. I know you'll break the T14 soon. I had a feeling bad curves could kill transfer admissions and this makes me think so even more (unless someone else ITT wants to discount my theory). Our curve is somewhat high, so I think it helps.ms2010 wrote:We'll see. My grades were incredibly late (sent out just before July 4th weekend) which might have hurt me in the end. Waiting on Penn before making a further decision, but I'd probably pick Mich over GULC since I want NY/NJ, Mich is substantially cheaper, and transferring is basically all about prestige whoringCongrats! So is it gonna be UMich or GULC?

Here's the real question.
