Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
It seemed like in hte beginning there were a few #1's at top 25-30 schools, it would be interesting to see if they had a status change.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
Hey guys. Someone just told me that they got an email saying they were accepted. Did anyone on this thread get such an email? Can anyone access the admitted student's website? Thanks!

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
I don't know my class rank exactly, but I have 4.1 at T30 and just went to DR. I'd guess 4.1 has to be at least top 5% because my school curves to ~3.3 average.
I went complete on 3/16.

T3% 80s T2
Do people who are rejected go to DR before they get their letter? What does this mean?

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
Common sense would say that this means everyone who is being accepted early has been switched over to DR, and those who are still under review arent. They've been reviewing apps for the last 2 weeks, so during that time they've been deciding who to accept, and who they should be rolled over to the general applicant pool. They probably reached the target number of people they planned on admitting early (you'd assume somewhere in the 50-100 range so they could save spots for people in regular decision) and switched those people over in one shot. Changing 50-100 names on a computer isn't a laborious process, so there's no reason to do it over several days.
Congrats to all those who have been (almost certainly) accepted, and for those who haven't, time to hit the books.

Meh I don't really buy this. even in the past EA acceptances were over a several week period.westlexis wrote:Common sense would say that this means everyone who is being accepted early has been switched over to DR, and those who are still under review arent. +1. it's easy change 50-100 names on a computer, but making admissions decisions on 50-100+ applications can take a little while. Annnnnnnd I'm trying to stay positive. lol.kings84_wr wrote:Meh I don't really buy this. even in the past EA acceptances were over a several week period.westlexis wrote:Common sense would say that this means everyone who is being accepted early has been switched over to DR, and those who are still under review arent. Is it bad to attempt to log in to the admitted student's site, or is that standard?
I remember something in the news a couple years ago about Harvard getting real angsty over that.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
Common sense? What about the possibility that they put only a batch of applications to DR, including both some acceptances and deferrals, until they render a decision on the rest? I'm not sure that common sense dictates that you would have "rendered the decision" of only those who you have accepted, meanwhile needlessly leaving the rest--who were rejected/deferred--at an Under review status.Common sense would say that this means everyone who is being accepted early has been switched over to DR, and those who are still under review arent.
