I just got an email from admissions replying they would update my file to reflect the fact that I made it onto Law Review...

Is this a sign that no calls will go out today? It doesn't make much sense to send emails like that simultaneosly with decisions. I bet we won't hear anything until Thursday or Friday.

I sent the update about me making onto Law Review last thursday too! I'm sure they'll respond to you soon! if not, know that they read all these emails and do add this kind of information into your file

I can live with waiting a few more days but any time past Friday is going to drive me craaazy. Just ding me now so I can move on with my life please Need to start making my bid-list for other schools ASAP...

Yah I agree! but at the same time, I got my admit letter from Columbia on July 1st, and then this morning I got another email from Columbia admissions replying they added the whole law review update into my file. So it seems like these updates are lagging behind decisions

Yah I agree! but at the same time, I got my admit letter from Columbia on July 1st, and then this morning I got another email from Columbia admissions replying they added the whole law review update into my file. So it seems like these updates are lagging behind decisions

Rising 2L at HLS here, and for what it's worth, when I was applying I got an email replying to my post-retake LSAT score update the same day as I got my JS2. So these email updates are probably more administrative than related to actual decisionmaking.

I emailed them today about Law Review and they responded within an hour that they were adding it to my file... if you haven't received an email back and you sent it last week, I would maybe send a follow-up since, in my experience, every time I email them they respond pretty quick, so maybe your email got lost?

I emailed them today about Law Review and they responded within an hour that they were adding it to my file... if you haven't received an email back and you sent it last week, I would maybe send a follow-up since, in my experience, every time I email them they respond pretty quick, so maybe your email got lost?

I thought about doing that - but was worried it could come across as pushy. It was a lengthy update, including a resume update with more detail about my summer job, and also an update that I had incoming deposit deadlines at other schools (so I asked if a decision would be likely anytime in the next week or two).

Maybe I'll give it until the end of the day tomorrow, and send a follow up then if I still don't hear anything?

Of course, maybe I'm already in the nope pile and it's all a waste of time!

I don't think transfer admissions is as grade heavy as people say... I mean the old threads show everyone who got in being top whatever% at Twhatever, but isn't that just survivor bias? Wouldn't be surprised if way more T20 top 5% got rejected than got in. I'm not a URM and don't have any strong softs so :-/

The strange thing is HLS takes a ton of WUSTL students relatively. And they took 55 last year, but 33 the year before. My gut says I'm not getting in lol. They did take 6 from GW last year.

55 and 33 for the whole incoming class, not just transfers, right? Where does this info come from? ABA 509 shows transfer students by law school only.

top 5% at T20 gives you a shot, nothing more nothing less. To be a shoo-in from a t20, you have to be like top 5 students

and yes, there are certain schools that are VERY popular to transfer out of. WUSTL, GW, and Cornell off the top of my head. From looking at these transfer forums through the year, my theory is just that there are more people applying to transfer from these schools, as opposed to other schools having a preference for WUSTL/GW/Cornell students.

Nothing to do now but prepare for the worst and hope for the best. GL to everyone!

Erm how small is your class at current school? Big difference between top 5 people and top 5% (14 people) at my school, and we aren't huge by any means...

if you're actually top 5 then yeah, you've got a great shot. I don't know any law schools outside of YS where top 5 and top 5% "aren't all that diff"

I don't know about averages, but I got into Berkeley a couple of weeks ago coming from a super low ranked school, 3.71 top 10%

I think the question was FROM schools like Berkeley. In my understanding, top 5% gives you a decent shot. Top 10% is a shot. But there's isn't much data out there.
