Mine has also updated with todays date. I had an update on 5/24 prior to todays, but no interview. Feels like a ding but we will see. As much as I try not to get my hopes up, they are up there haha. Also, in response to the write-on, I registered to receive the information already. It is fine because it requires no time investment up front, and if I end up being deferred to RD I can participate anyway.

Still waiting on my grades but idk. Didn't feel good. Studied hard to stay on track too but I guess we'll see. Anecdotally, one of my professors emailed the grades to kids who got an A in his class today and I did not receive an email. All the kids I know who received the email have an early last name so we're trying to figure out if he did it alphabetically but the freak out is no Bueno.

Did anyone get deferred who also had an interview? If not, then I assume the people who had interviews and two subsequent updates likely were accepted. I assume acceptances will come this week

How does the student body compare to your 1L school?

How does the student body compare to your 1L school?

This is a good question because people should know what they're getting into.

I made a pretty big leap I guess, so the differences are pretty stark. But, there are a few things that stand out to me. For instance, at my first school, maybe 15-20% of the class actually gave af about law school, whereas everyone here is super into it - even 2Ls and [most] 3Ls, which is weird. Because of this, 1Ls are downright insufferable to even stand near. At first, I thought the upperclassmen were generally normal because everybody says that they're going to "ride median" and post things like "2LOL'ing" on facebook etc., but it turns out most were just pretending to blow off class and actually study super hard for every single final. The pressure to perform is generated by the students themselves, not the professors. Personally, I don't really fit in. Maybe because I generally think law school is retarded and there aren't many people to commensurate with in that respect. From students to professors, everyone seems to love the smell of their own farts, love the fact that they go to UChicago, and always jump at any - and I mean any - opportunity to show what they think they know. I exaggerate to an extent, but not really. I did find a person or two who feels the same way about the rest of the student body, but that's literally it. If you went to a big state school for undergrad and actually had fun, your personality will be on the outside of normal here. However, many if not most of the other transfers seemed to fit like a glove. That said, admittedly, most people here are wicked smaht and I usually feel pretty dumb in comparison. I only think I'm here because I figured out how to take law school exams early on and really only had to compete against 15-20 people.

I xferred from T2 to CLS and the student body there (at least 2Ls and 3Ls) was remarkably different than what you described.

That's cool but not exactly surprising. I just figured at most schools people were normal.

For those considering attending, please understand that there are things about choosing a school that are much more important than liking the people in your class, though I guess that may matter to some extent.
