Re: Columbia Waiting Thread 2013
did they really say decisions will be out by the second week of august?? According to last years thread, transfer orientation started on August 7th and EIP started the 11th (I think). Plus, moving into Manhattan would be a serious pain in the ass. They need to speed this up.
Edit: Just found out that EIP starts on August 8th this year.... my birthday. Maybe i'll get an early present

Re: Columbia Waiting Thread 2013
I called about an impending deposit deadline at another school and also got the line about the second week of August. I didn't realize EIP was so early ... early to mid-August would make things difficult, especially for anyone coming from outside the tri-state area.
Also: Have there been any dings yet?

JUST WENT COMPLETE!
even though my boxes aren't checked off.
i also emailed them and asked for an expedited decision because of my NYU deadline. I am not sure if that will detrimentally affect me, combined with the office guy being fed up with me already.

I still have unchecked boxes, but confirmed via e-mail earlier today that my app is complete. I don't think they're too diligent with updating the status checker.

Yeah, I got an email yesterday confirming my undergrad dean's cert had been received. My status checker went complete this afternoon and just got an email a little while ago saying I'm complete. It also said "Good luck in the admissions process and we hope to welcome you here as a member of the Class of 2016!" Not sure if I should be worried about that. Are they implying I should just start over?

I think all it means is there's different people in charge of making sure you're complete and evaluating the applications, and the people who said you were complete are trying to be nice.psach44 wrote:dsb83 wrote:psach44 wrote:you just went complete?

I have respect for Peter's calm, meticulous and diligent demeanor. I applaud him for his patience in the face of transfer-applicant desperation and absurdity. #1 fan right here. Until, of course, I get dinged.
