The pertinent question I'd not whether TTT students are dumber than T14 students. Rather, one should ask whether TTT students have a reasonable shot at decent job prospects.firemed wrote:$1.99 wrote:yeah anyone who attended or attends a TTT tends to believe that
Dude, he is at Berkeley... your posts are just looking like the "Attack of the Sore Loser" show at this point.

I'd say the only one who CAN believe something like this is someone like him.$1.99 wrote:yeah anyone who attended or attends a TTT tends to believe that

Again, nobody is arguing with the fact that there is a disparity in job prospects between the schools. That is the reason I transfered. However, it is not as bleak as the posts in this thread make it seem. I personally know people at a couple different TTTs who are working in / had offers from biglaw firms.random5483 wrote:

OP: My honest, well-intentioned advice is that you transfer. It's true that with initiative and networking savvy you can still make a solid career for yourself after attending a lower-ranked school, and there are a lot of assholes on this board who put way too much stock in tiers and prestige as determined by a decaying newsweekly. But in this particular case, I think you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. Thomas Jefferson has gotten some very, very bad press lately, and it's entirely realistic to suppose that might hurt your employment prospects. It's one of a few schools that's been selected (fairly or not, I really have no idea) as a poster child for the law school scam movement. Whether they should or not, people do pay attention to that sort of thing, and it can hold you back. You sound hardworking and genuinely dedicated to a career in law. You don't want your school's poor reputation to overshadow that.
P.S. I say this as someone who's transferring from a T1 to a TTTT, so I'm not just being a snob.

He may not, but I do. I have two friends from here in Kansas City that went out there to attend. Neither of them can find jobs. One of them failed the bar. And they're both mired in debt... I believe TJ is the school where the students have the highest debt load... correct me where I'm wrong.Lawl Shcool wrote:Look man, I would bet good money you don't know anyone who goes or went to TJ and have never been to the school. I bet it feels great to go to a quasi-good school and bash people at lower ranked schools anonymously on the internet. It makes you feel special right?ndirish2010 wrote:
LOL.
It is a shitty law school.
OP, transfer.

Thank you all for the healthy debate and interesting insights. I am choosing to ignore the offensive comments previously posted, although that has given me some interesting insight as well. I have to say that it does seem like the right move to transfer. Today I got accepted to Pepperdine as well. This is even closer to where I live now, only 15 minutes away. I am really excited about both prospects. There were more factors at work in my choice, including that my boyfriend got a great job in LA and we have been living in LA all summer. I want to repeat that I feel TJ has a bad rep for no good reason, they provide a great education and have some wonderful professors there. I really hope that some day the school can rise past all the undeserved bad rap and rise in ranking.
Any thoughts on Loyola vs. Pepperdine? Both cost about the same, allow write on to LR, and will transfer all my classes.
Thank you for your thoughts!

Don't know much about the latter, but I have a good friend who graduated from Loyola and loved it. He's now a staff attorney with the L.A. County Superior Court. I believe he did well.missmae3 wrote:Any thoughts on Loyola vs. Pepperdine? Both cost about the same, allow write on to LR, and will transfer all my classes.
