V/B/P/NU/D?
V = out
B = out
P = in
NU = in (if work experience), out (if not)
D = waitlist

Add in CCN too. You might get at least one (add H if you get within the top 5% after this semester; Y/S are almost always a longshot).
hmmm. Want NU but no w/e.

Why can I get P (and not the others) and why one of CCN?
Personally, I would still try for NU -- I'm not sure that anyone's actually verified that they want WE for transfers.

My guesses:

V = ties? if strong, 50%, if not 20%
B = 50%
P = 55%
NU = 60%
D = 50%

If you're top 5% after spring, you should get one of C/N.

*sigh* why not...

Iowa, 3.87, around top 5% (based on history, no ranking yet, but well within 10%), significant ties to Chicago.

Looking at Chicago ED.

ED - 35-40%
RD - 50%

Your stats should definitely be good enough, it's just going to be a matter of how many others from your school are applying. Your ties may help too.

Top 9% from a school in the 50-60 range.

What are my chances at

Penn
Duke
GULC
VANDY
UCLA

I know Penn is probably a long shot, how much would I need to improve to have a decent shot there?

I understand that this isn't exactly a hard science but top 10% at 20-25 v. top 10% at 50-60 really only makes that little a difference at Penn/Duke?

edit: Well I guess it is harder to transfer this year...just interesting to see.

Apparently Chicago was a little over enrolled last year, and as a result they are taking less transfer students (dropping from 25 to probably 15). I wouldn't be surprised if this were the case at least a few other schools.

I dont think you have a chance at GULC EA.
RD is below 25%. You need top 5% grades to get into GULC.

Fordham id say 70%.
UC irvine- i donno..

Well to be a little more black and white: top 10% at 20-25 should be good enough to get in, top 10% at 50-60 probably isn't.
TyrodTaylor wrote:what would one need at a t30 to get HYS?
top 5% at a minimum, top 1-3% for a good shot

This, plus it seems like a lot more students are trying to transfer.

I think 5-15% is a huge range. Top 5% gives you about a 50% shot at both CLS/NYU, and 70% at GULC. Top 10% is more like 25% at CLS/NYU and 55% at GULC. Top 15% is probably 10% at CLS/NYU, 35-40%. Your chances are better if your current school is in the same market.

On the other hand, transfer students = full tuition (to balance over-extended schollys). They also don't take up seats in 1L classes.
