His attitude doesn't really bother me. I don't think it's really arrogance if you actually have the ability to back it up. I think equating knowing you're good with arrogance is a product of our "everyone is equally sparkly" educational system. It's the people who think they're hot stuff when they're not that irritate me.

I agree with this to a point. Yes, being confident isn't arrogance. But being a douche to other people is being a douche.

Where it crosses from confidence/arrogance into douche is where you don't realize where your shortcomings are. Guess what you can be the best at legal analysis in the world, yet still be a terrible lawyer. It is only one, albeit an important and easily identifiable, factor in being a good lawyer. Another huge one is ability to network, if you can't even keep people ambivalent about you in school you are in for a rough career.

I got my grades for the 2nd semester back...4.0 on the nose. Pretty relieved, actually, because I was worried about one exam but it turned out well. Anyway, I'm applying to all of HYS and I threw in UVa (where I would be OOS) because that was my dream school all through college. Wish me luck.

I think the black box comment is the TITCR. I don't recall the specifics, but there's a guy who used to post on here, yalie10, who had over a 4.0 at a t1 and got into Yale, but got dinged at Harvard.

I honestly have no clue how I'm going to decide. Is there any difference in terms of national placement between H and S? I am interested in judicial clerkships after school, is Harvard better? Ahhh, what a decision, and I only have 2 weeks or so. Right now my head is spinning. If anybody has tips to help pick, by all means let me know.

Lol false. If you're not lying about your numbers you'll likely get into one of those schools. But, from a combination of personal knowledge and others' on the boards, you have not yet been accepted to H or S (nor has anyone else). Which makes your post almost certainly untrue, and frankly kind of weird.

on exam days I felt like Jason Giambi on steroids playing in a little league game. The last test I took was a multiple choice test, and at one point when I was on question 40, I looked over at the guy next to me, reasonably smart guy, just below top 10%, and he's on question 12. The test before that, I woke up when it was 35 minutes underway, got there 50 minutes late, and still finished before everyone else. The one before that, I wrote about 15 double-spaced pages of pretty terrific essays, left with an hour to spare, bought a few rolls at the local bakery, and came back and ate them in the exam room.

This guy is like the Chuck Norris of law school.
