Quickly looking through old threads, I found one example of a person's both changing to PT and then they were accepted to the PT program. not a transfer but i doubt that matters. I would think its good news.XM3045 wrote:haha. I'm all for positive thinking....but how do you figure?transferhopeful12 wrote:also, i would think it would be a good sign to get switched to one or the other. it doesn't seem like they would do that if they were going to defer you...but just a guess

what is DR?plyersplyer wrote:bigred87 wrote:yes. the "under review" does not mean anything, and they are trying to change the app status checker to be like the 1L JD status check. Apparently they started reviewing apps last week or the week before, and it will say "decision rendered" before we hear.johndoe wrote:Did anyone call the admissions office to see what was up in terms of the time table?
figured the 1L thing. Good news though. My next prophecy is that next Monday or even this Friday will be the first wave of DR

Is there anybody else who applied to both? Is your status still both or do you have one program or the other?

You should probably edit your post to something less ambiguous. I can see this getting out of hand quickly. lolBig Shrimpin wrote:lol my apologies--i def did not realize the implication of that post (hides face in shame)

I applied to both and it still says both.
Edit: the smileys were to show that I was confused and maybe sad if it means something, haha.
Anyway, someone said up above that when it switched from both to pt. it meant they were in pt.

Dude, don't think it matters. I emailed them earlier and they said it was a technical glitch. I really doubt there is more to it than that.A'nold wrote:I applied to both and it still says both.

It may be a glitch, but I'm pretty sure it does matter. I also know someone else with auto-admit numbers who applied to both and is now at full-time.

Maybe...but I'm just at a "solid" T3 with a good gpa. I really would be surprised if I fall into the auto admit category. Honestly though who knows. There is probably someone making $8 an hour entering this data and they make one mistake while chowing down on their lunch and we waste half our night wondering what it means.

For what its worth....
I think I am pretty close to auto admit numbers....top 5%+ at a t20 school. I applied for both part time and full time, and now mine says full time. I have no idea what this means.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
Interesting possiblity with the PT/FT thing.
But time for some perspective. Most people will not get in EA. But a lot of those deferred will be admitted under regular decision if they put in a similar performance second semester. I know it's tough, but you all need to be focused on finals right now. In any case, good luck to everybody (with finals and EA)!

Hey guys. I have had a question for a while and was wondering if any of you could answer it. When Gtown says they accept 100 transfer students, does this include BOTH full time and part time students or just full time. Thanks for your help!

Another question similar to this: is it 100 accepted or 100 offers?JR00576 wrote:Hey guys. I have had a question for a while and was wondering if any of you could answer it. Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
I believe around 100 matriculate in the fall, over 600 apply. I think that they admit more than many of us think, though EA is probably a bit of a different story. But since overall movement from first to second semester isn't major (on average), I'm sure Gtown knows that a large chunk of the "auto-admits" will not be choosing Gtown over T-10s. So even in EA, I think they let in a bit more than just the auto-admits and a few others. But the presumption that they likely won't admit someone (or more than a few) EA who wouldn't get into a higher ranked school if he maintained his grades/rank second semester seems pretty solid.Client8 wrote:Another question similar to this: is it 100 accepted or 100 offers?JR00576 wrote:Hey guys. Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
I am curious about this as well.
Someone else on this thread probably knows more about it than I do, but from what I understand in previous years appx 100 students matriculated, with around 600 applying (for all transfers, not just EA). So, the acceptance number must be quite a bit more than 100 (maybe 150-250?).
I don't know anything about the PT/FT split. I know about 80% of the current enrollment is FT, but I would imagine the PT for transfers would probably be greater than 20% of the total for regular admissions. So possibly ~140 FT acceptances, and ~80 PT. (THESE ARE JUST GUESSES!)
Does anyone else know?

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
can someone please explain what qualifies one to be considered an "auto admit"
School Rank Student Rank
15-30 ~~~~~~~ Top 5-10%
30-50 ~~~~~~~ Top 5%
51-100 ~~~~~~~ Top 1-3%
T3/T4 ~~~~~~~ is this even possible to be auto admit? what if its the #1 student?
Am I totally off here?

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
I would think these numbers would qualify as auto-admit. If I was in charge of the GULC EA admissions policy, the kind of students I would want to admit would be those who could transfer into the T10 with a repeat performance, with my thinking being that a possible early acceptance to GULC might cause some of these students to get complacent and not even apply to other schools.newyorker69 wrote:can someone please explain what qualifies one to be considered an "auto admit"
