I don't think we can conclude that all decisions will be coming out at the same time this year just from this switch to Under Review. They might have had other reasons, like switching to the same system that 1L's have, or putting everyone Under Review so that those who aren't forum-creepers won't constantly pester the admissions office asking if their application is being reviewed yet. But really who knows, since this is different than usual. If nothing comes out by the middle of next week or (gasp) the beginning of the following week, then that may be cause to worry (even more). :-/

Not to be a downer, and I am all for being optimistic about getting word sooner, but I would venture to guess (100% speculate) this means they just started the actual decision process. Snowpocalypse + increased xfer app #'s (recession theory) = later decision. I'm going with no sooner than the first week of May. :( Again, better start gettin' those outlines cookin. Time is staring to...tick...tick...tick.

ALSO UNDER REVIEW!!

AHHH....THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING!!! My heart fell into my stomach when I logged in and saw under review, but i don't really know what it means either. Maybe one of us should call the Ad office and ask what the significance, if any, of this status is? Last week was told "decision rendered" would be the one week before status? Or maybe she said under review? I really don't remember!

Call not it on calling the admissions office! But I REALLY think someone should so that we can put some of this anxiety to rest!

I think most people on here overestimate the number of EA apps GULC receives.

I am not "estimating" nor do I have any idea how many apps GULC is getting this year, but I would bet it is more than the 600 they got last year. The only point is that since jobs are harder to get due to the recession, esp outside of the top schools, more people are likely applying to transfer than in years past. Hence a longer wait time to make decisions if the adcom bandwidth for review remains the same. This is not particular to GULC, but likely goes for all schools, or so the theory goes. It could be incorrect, but it does seem one possible reason why we will be waiting longer this year.

Same here. I'm rather surprised since I went complete mid April. It's possible GULC wants to snatch up certain people before Chicago (very likely). History shows that getting a decision in the first round is always an acceptance offer. (See prior year's thread for support.) Incoming 1L GULC thread supports that all UR's receive a DR in one batch (though not necessarily the same decision). Good luck to those UR.

P.S. Is anyone here not under review?

Does anyone know anyone in the past that has been accepted as a transfer in the PT program?

Do you guys think checking both or PT helps your chances?

yes people get into the P/T program as transfers pretty regularly. There was some discussion on here a while ago about whether checking p/t in addition to f/t hurts your chances of getting into the f/t program. if I remember correctly no one was too sure of the actual answer

So I looked earlier (like 1 hour ago) and my program "type" read both. Just checked again at it said full-time. It may apply to what type of program we are currently in.

Anyone else?

I am in a part-time program, and only applied to the full-time. My program type says Full-time - not sure if it ever read anything else though.

also, i would think it would be a good sign to get switched to one or the other. it doesn't seem like they would do that if they were going to defer you...but just a guess

Full-time/full-time here. Like stinger said, I can't remember if mine ever said anything other than full-time, and I only applied for FT.

I don't think FT or both or PT refers to whatever program you are in now because of its location on the page - right below the term, which I assume says Fall for everyone.

Per GULC ad office

Thanks for your email and letting us know. I can confirm that your application states both, but will look into the Applicant Status Online system to see if there is some sort of technical problem.

Did anyone call the admissions office to see what was up in terms of the time table?

yes. the "under review" does not mean anything, and they are trying to change the app status checker to be like the 1L JD status check. Apparently they started reviewing apps last week or the week before, and it will say "decision rendered" before we hear.

figured the 1L thing. Good news though. My next prophecy is that next Monday or even this Friday will be the first wave of DR
