Honestly, I think it is anyone's guess...
supposedly it's acceptances in the first wave (first day or so); then rejections; then deferrals. That is what one person on yahoo told me, but someone else said that pretty much the only reliable measure is that acceptances are the first wave, then it is a mixed bag after that.
so it seems to me that you switch to decision, hope that someone from Texas with a 4.0 switched at the same time as you, and then you still have a couple of nervous days waiting for your letter.

I just checked last year's thread, and one thing that makes me think decisions will come out the week of the 26th is that last year, the week before people got decisions, GULC contacted some applicants to see what classes they were taking 2nd semester if this information was not listed on their transcript. It seems like they have not done this yet, so unless they have changed their policy this year, they will most likely do this during the upcoming week and start handing out decisions the week after. Thoughts?

So does this mean that they might have already decided, and the decisions are automatically released?

I am confused by all of this. Are people speculating that at midnight auto-admits status checkers will change to 'decision rendered' from 'application completed'?

yes, according to last year's thread that someone posted the link to a few pages back. I'm not sure about the year before that but last year's applicants were expecting it to change at 12 so I'm assuming it happened the year before as well.

Just imagine going online and seeing "application completed" at 12:01. You're going to feel like poo because you either 1) rejected/deferred, or 2) have to wait another week. I have a final soon, I don't know if my mind can take it any longer.
What's the reason for not putting up "accepted" online? Maybe the chance of incorrectly changing a status is far greater than sending a reject an acceptance letter?

Yall are just confusing me. Are you saying that if you get in the status checker will just tell you so? Tonight, at midnight? That is, if the decisions come out this week?

No. It won't tell you so, and the poster was asking why it is that way. It just tells you when a decision was made...it is rather ominous

Well, since everyone is getting me nervous/excited/intrigued about this evening - might as well post a preemptive question to be answered post midnight:
DID ANYONE GO TO DECISION RENDERED?
Hahahahaha....

Alright, quick recap for those who don't want to search and re-read the last half of this thread (since I went through and re-read all these posts and last years' post).
Assertion: At 12:01 midnight, if your status checker changes from application received to: decision rendered you have been admitted in the alleged first round of review into Gtown and should receive snail mail in a few days rendering your admittance.
However, if your status checker changes from application received to application completed, more than likely you have been (1) deferred or (2) rejected, and will receive an email (not snailmail b/c apparently they stopped sending rejects this way) in a few days.
If nothing changes, you will probably have to wait for the next week or so for alleged Round 2 admits/rejects/deferrals OR next Monday will be the "initial" round 1 status checker changes.
Please fill in the blanks if I missed anything, GL all!

Thats a great recap! Though I would put money on the start date being the 26th, since GTown hasn't already contact people who do not have their second semester classes on their transcripts.

Me too.
ALSO:
Is anyone else having little pangs of nostalgia? I almost don't want to leave. I had such a good time this year (well as good a time as you can have in law school) and I don't want to leave all my friends. I know it's lame and not career oriented or w/e but I cannot be alone in this. COME ON PEOPLE. We're not all heartless prestige whores.

sorry scratch the Application Complete change noted above: mine has also been on complete :S
yeah, i definitely would miss the friends and memories i've made here, but hopefully that can easily be discounted by the value and new friendships obtained at the new school.
