With that rank, you should probably forego the ED option and see if you can snag HYS if you repeat.brotherdarkness wrote:3.89/4.00 (8 out of 197) @ Mid-T1

Ranked 10 out of 245ish (top 5%) at a T80-90. VA resident and UVA undergrad. LSAT 162, UGPA 3.1. Chances for UVA? Other T14s? I've already got 2 good letters of recommendation from first semester profs

Off the cuff but I'd say very good for all of the above. 3.955 means you've got to be #1 or close to it. Definitely in at one of the CCN, I'd say shoot for H (simply because Y and S admit so few transfers).xtian wrote:3.955, 7/210, school ranked 40s-50s

Re: What are your chances?
My speculations for the folks who've been ignored:
Strong admit for Boalt
Coin toss at SLS
Nice job. Keep it up.
I suspect that if you can claw your way into top 5% you'll have a solid chance. Top 10-20%, I'm not sure, but I suspect it's a coin toss--and probably even a slightly lower. But I'm just speculating given that SLS accepts so few transfers. This is one of those circumstances where prior WE and other softs or compelling reasons to be at SLS v. UCB may make a not-insignificant difference.Sav wrote:Ranked between top 10-20% at Berkeley (H, H, HH). What chances transferring to SLS? UCB gives only rank bands.
You have a good shot at UVA. If you can maintain or (obviously) improve your standing, I'd give you better than 50/50. It's pretty well known in the transfer game that UVA prefers residents. The UVA undergrad obviously helps.rustyyoda wrote:Ranked 10 out of 245ish (top 5%) at a T80-90. VA resident and UVA undergrad. LSAT 162, UGPA 3.1. Chances for UVA? Other T14s? It doesn't really. Though being number 1 would be helpful for HYS, for Chicago ED, you're a strong candidate.xtian wrote:Well actually im #7/210... so idk if that changes anything
I'd be more comfortable saying you're a good candidate for Texas if they didn't take so few transfers. Your residency obviously helps, but any specific reasons for being in Austin in particular? If you get your rank up to, say, top 15%, I think you'd be a competitive candidate at all of those schools. Put in an EA app at GULC; they may bite, and I think it'd be worth it.08liuty wrote:IU-Maurer (rank 26), I am Top 25%, chances to GULC, Northwestern, UT (I am Texas Resident)
In at UCLA/USCmbeast12 wrote:Top 3% w/ 4.18 GPA at T1 school ranked in the high 40s (closer to 50)
thoughts for the following?
SLS
Boalt
UCLA
USC

I'm honestly not sure. But I feel like if you maintain your GPA and improve *slightly*, you'd have a good shot at USD. I'm thinking softs and compelling geographic reasons here would be helpful. As for USC/UCLA, you'd probably need to at least break into the top 5%.jay400 wrote:Hello,

Re: What are your chances?
Hello all, new to the board. The info on this forum is incredibly helpful. I guess I'll throw my hat into the ring.
School is in the 59-64 range
3.6 GPA
7-8%
165 LSAT
1 CALI in the Fall
I'm looking to get back into the Chicago area for various reasons. I'm really hoping for Northwestern, do I have a decent shot?

Re: What are your chances?
Please evaluate my chances.
My current school's rank: 19 (UMinn/WUSTL)
Percentile ranking: 15th-20th %ile
A little bit of decent work experience (took a gap year after college to work)
No ties to any specific location and I'm willing to work at any major city (NYC, DC, Chicago, LA, SF, etc.)
I want to apply to all T7-T14 schools:
Penn
UVA
Berkeley
Michigan
Duke
NU
Cornell
GULC
I'm especially interested in Berkeley, Michigan, and NU.

Don't apply to UVA unless you're from VA. No sense wasting the application money.saffronleaf wrote:Please evaluate my chances.

For now, focus on studying/preparing for exams. You can play the "what if" game all day and get nowhere in the end.pat4redick wrote:School - 40-50

Re: What are your chances?
Less than a coin toss. Lower t14 maybe, but CCN, you'd probably need top 5% for a 50/50 shot.pat4redick wrote:School - 40-50

My gut says you have a solid shot B (better with CA ties). Maybe 50/50 at HS (which are great odds, IMO). And slightly less for Y. All definitely worth an application.ironharvest wrote:Top 10% at Cornell.

Not sure about UCLA/USC, though. They seem to want more of a top 5% or better from T3/T4s.
Yes, I'm at a CA T4. Thanks for the replies, I will apply to USD and LMU, and UCLA/USC if my grades get better.
