Yeah makes me wonder if there was a different thread for acceptances.
The two or three posters i recognized in that first admitted group seemed to be auto admits t30 schools and higher then >5%

How does learning of your fate work? If our status checker goes complete, do we have to wait until the snail mail comes? I dont understand this admitted students page thingie. It appears you have to request a username/password. However, how do you know you need to request to user/pass if you haven't found out you're accepted?

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
Last year the EA admits were given access early, which was a mistake. I think they try to time the access to kick in when you will receive the mail (they will not tell you over the phone, so you have to wait). I believe ALL of the first round decisions were successful admissions, so if this year is similar if you go to decision in the first round, then you probably have good news coming.newyorker69 wrote:How does learning of your fate work? I believe it says "decision rendered" then you get snail mail a couple days after, which would have new-student info (like campus name/password).

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
If you get decision rendered, you might get an email 3 days later saying you've been rejected. GULC no longer sends snail-mail for rejections.
By the way, GULC has completely changed their admissions status check website since last year. You'd do better looking at the incoming 1L threads.

I read the 1L 2013/2014 threads. Here is one that is very depressing: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... start=3550Big Shrimpin wrote:Is this an unsubstantiated guess or a public service announcement? No offense--I'm just curious (and my conspiracy-theory radar has gone off).
These EA applicants received a decision rendered, waited over a week, and then received a rejection email.

oh #'s LSAT below median; GPA at median. RD--Full time. AA/NA URM.
I hope our thread won't devolve into that.jk11287 wrote:rejected via GENERIC EMAIL AFTER SEVEN DAYS dr 12/1, 169/3.23 ED FT.

Re: Official Georgetown EA thread
From what I've read from that forum, there is still the quirk of some people who have been admitted but not received notice having access to the admitted students page, however some who have been admitted have not had access until even after they received their acceptance. But it looks like if you do get access to the page then you are admitted.
Second, I wonder if they will be emailing deferrals like they do rejections? since I assume few people in EA (relatively) will get outright rejected. And it looks like that seven day wait happened earlier in the 1L cycle, but more recently rejections have come a day or two after status goes to decision rendered. Who knows how they will be doing it for the first and subsequent rounds of transfer decisions but hopefully we'll have some idea in the next 2 weeks

Good info. However, for EA it's important to keep in mind that few people will get outright rejected, most will get deferred to regular decision.dcpolitico wrote:If you get decision rendered, you might get an email 3 days later saying you've been rejected. US News leak is out.
--LinkRemoved--
Still #14.
So if your current school moves up in the rankings, do you think this has any play with G-town adcom in making their final decision regarding a transfer?

I no longer go to a top 25 lol.
I don't think it can make too much of a difference. 27 is good enough

Goodness, I hope being #1 at 34 still counts for SOMETHING
Seriously, perhaps I should blame my school's decline on my abysmal uGPA.

Does anyone know if GULC has released employment stats for the class of 2009??? I can't seem to find much info at all about employment figures on their site.

To be completely honest I don't see a logical reason why it should. It's not like the quality of my school or our job prospects changed overnight with a drop of less than 10 spots.gulceatransfer wrote:So if your current school moves up in the rankings, do you think this has any play with G-town adcom in making their final decision regarding a transfer?

A good point. I find it hard to believe that I was a good candidate yesterday but a shitty one today.
To play devils advocate, its possible that they are measuring your performance against how "smart" the people around you are which plays into the rankings somewhat.

The school lost 1 point in the US News rankings which resulted in a 10 spot drop. I think that hardly reflects on anything.stinger35 wrote:apper123 wrote:To be completely honest I don't see a logical reason why it should. You know, I depend on you bastards to update me when you superstars get your "decision rendered" messages, however, every time I look at this page, a little more of my heart goes cold.
