Has anyone heard from U of Chi or NYU? CLS won't start releasing until after the 15th - their app deadline is the 15th.

My friend who transferred to CLS a few years back didn't hear until 7/28. I think CLS is by far the last school to release any decisions (honestly, I'm not even sure if I have a status checker).

Re: T14 Transfer Status Change Thread
sigh, no changes.
Still UR 6/30 at Penn (updated from 6/24), UR 6/24 at NYU, complete at CLS, and Ready for Review at H.
regarding columbia, it says above that last year they released decisions July 8- July 29. We'll probably start seeing some of those with auto-admit numbers get accepted there maybe this week? They don't have to wait until July 15 to start accepting.

Yeah you should have a status check. 7/28 would be way way too late for me I think. Last year they had a bunch of emails go out around the 8th or so.keg411 wrote:My friend who transferred to CLS a few years back didn't hear until 7/28. Re: T14 Transfer Status Change Thread
It does appear that according to last year's CLS thread, there was a decent-sized wave of acceptances by e-mail on 7/8. Hopefully something similar will happen this week...keg411 wrote:My friend who transferred to CLS a few years back didn't hear until 7/28. I have until Monday to decide on NYU. Would love to hear from Columbia so that I can make a final decision. They still have me at "completion pending" yet they have every piece of my application for over a week.

Theyve done the same to me, despite having every piece for 2+ weeks (I was completion pending at CLS before I went complete at Penn, and since then I have gone complete, under review, and decision at Penn --). Further, I emailed them last week about it and have not heard back. argh.kaiser wrote:I have until Monday to decide on NYU. Would love to hear from Columbia so that I can make a final decision. I guess worst comes to worst, I just deposit at NYU, and then wait to hear back from Columbia, and if I decide on Columbia, I can just choose it then and eat the deposit amount. Though I really don't want to blow 600 bucks like that.hds2388 wrote:Theyve done the same to me, despite having every piece for 2+ weeks (I was completion pending at CLS before I went complete at Penn, and since then I have gone complete, under review, and decision at Penn --). Re: T14 Transfer Status Change Thread
Given that I am already short on cash (why is it the best 1L summer jobs don't pay well?) and much of that was blown on apps, I can't justify blowing a seat deposit so I'll be making phone calls to NYU and CLS to rush things along.kaiser wrote:I guess worst comes to worst, I just deposit at NYU, and then wait to hear back from Columbia, and if I decide on Columbia, I can just choose it then and eat the deposit amount. It can't be a very good 1L summer job if it doesnt pay wellhds2388 wrote:Given that I am already short on cash (why is it the best 1L summer jobs don't pay well?) and much of that was blown on apps, I can't justify blowing a seat deposit so I'll be making phone calls to NYU and CLS to rush things along.kaiser wrote:I guess worst comes to worst, I just deposit at NYU, and then wait to hear back from Columbia, and if I decide on Columbia, I can just choose it then and eat the deposit amount. Figured it out (I'm at "Completion Pending" with a weird message that they've received everything but haven't compiled it all yet, so I'm guessing this means I don't have to send anything else, but who knows).DeSimone wrote:https://www-app.law.columbia.edu/webpor ... heckstatuskeg411 wrote:My friend who transferred to CLS a few years back didn't hear until 7/28. kaiser, if I were you, I would just accept NYU not bother with the CLS headache if you don't hear before the NYU deadline. There just isn't enough difference between the schools.

Re: T14 Transfer Status Change Thread
Do you think that is the best move? How much is the seat deposit you will lose? I think that calling them to tell them to hurry up is an easy way to be told: "no, sorry we can't meet your deadline. Do what you need to do." or just plain "no."hds2388 wrote:Given that I am already short on cash (why is it the best 1L summer jobs don't pay well?) and much of that was blown on apps, I can't justify blowing a seat deposit so I'll be making phone calls to NYU and CLS to rush things along.kaiser wrote:I guess worst comes to worst, I just deposit at NYU, and then wait to hear back from Columbia, and if I decide on Columbia, I can just choose it then and eat the deposit amount. I'm at Complete at CLS saying that my application has been forwarded to committee.

Re: T14 Transfer Status Change Thread
The seat deposit I will lose is 500. I know that I'm being really crazy, but I barely have enough money to make the rent, let alone pick up and move to a new school on a months notice. I plan on wording my request respectfully and in a manner that conveys my very strong interest in a decision from CLS or NYU: I have heard that making these requests as garnered positive results in the past.sunynp wrote: Do you think that is the best move? Waitlisted at Chicago 7/11.
Anyone familiar with transfer waitlists? Do they work the same as our first time around?

Top 10% (former) T15.
And, no, I was not ED. The status checker changed to 'Waitlisted: Notified by Email.' I haven't actually received the email though.
