Anyone else unable to access their application status all of a sudden?

Hahaha. Another day, come and gone. Maybe tomorrow? At this point I don't expect anything until the end of next week but who knows? Thankfully finals have arrived and my mind is filled with enough stuff to distract me from GULC.

Maybe. Still a shot we might get something this upcoming week! It'd be very cool for me if we did because Friday, 4/26 is my last final and I'd very much like to jet back home immediately afterwards without being worried about missing something in the mail.

I wish. Their website says "late April or early May" and I wouldn't be surprised at all if we heard first week of May. But it definitely would be nice to hear sometime this week.

Here are timelines from the previous years starting from address status checker changes to acceptance letter. Some of these threads are hard to navigate (looking at 2016) so feel free to update/correct. Anyone else worried we noticed changes in the status checkers on April Fools?

2018: 11 calendar days, 7 business days
4/19 was apt.->apartment change
4/27, user called and reported that "they specifically have not made any decisions yet"
4/30 USPS trackers indicate GULC mail (some with 4/27 mailing date), backdoor access
5/03 Deferrals

2017: 8-10 calendar days, 6-7 business days
4/20 first apt-apartment
4/24 part-time/full-time indicators, most other address changes
4/27 backdoor access
4/28-30 letters received
05/02 late acceptances/backdoor access
05/03-04 later letters; acceptances through the summer for some who I guess got deferred

2016: 7 calendar days, 5 business days
4/15 apt->apartment
4/19 part-time/full-time indicators
4/20 backdoor access
4/22 acceptance e-mails with letters in mail
4/28 deferral emails

2015: 6-8 calendar days, 4-6 business days
4/02 apt->apartment

Because the waiting is killing me, here are some more data points to add to this:

2018:
First Deposit Due: May 7 (Monday, First full week of May)
Time between backdoor access and deposit: 7 days/4 business days

2017:
First Deposit Due: May 10 (Wednesday, First full week of May)
Time between backdoor access and deposit: 13 days/8 business days

2016:
First Deposit Due: May 2 (Monday, First full week of May)
Time between backdoor access and deposit: 12 days/8 business days

2015:
No Deposit date data

2014:
First Deposit Due: May 1 (Thursday, not a full week in May)
Time between backdoor access and deposit: 20-23 days/15-18 business days

So I think we can make two conclusions:

1) There is a huge margin of error.
2) Assuming they want the first deposit by the end of the first full week in May, I would guess that we'll have backdoor access on or before Monday (April 29) so that we have 8 business days to gather a deposit.

You know, we might not be the most talkative of all the threads, but goddammit I'll put our data collection skills up against any one of them. This is magnificent. Maybe the tricky way to find out what the decision date would be is to call the admissions office and throw a curve-ball: instead of asking when they expect to make decisions, ask when the first deposit will be due.

Agreed we have a terrific group. I hope we all get in guys My only comment is I remember someone mentioning that the backdoor glitch got fixed (and after some snooping around what I think is the admitted students website, I think that's true) so it's more likely we will find out via the official correspondence.

Any volunteers for callers though? I may have a chance later this afternoon but it depends on how busy we get.

Stupid question, but what is this backdoor access everyone keeps talking about?

In years past you used to be able to find out if you got in a few days prior to actually getting an acceptance letter by requesting a "forgotten password" from GULC's system. This quirk existed for years and years until (I guess) someone finally fixed it last year.

I got an email requesting information about my summer plans, since I hadn't included them on my resume.

Maybe they're looking for a tiebreaker? Might also mean they're still at least a couple days out from finalizing anything.

Figured I should jump into this as well. Top 3% at a T1, no extracurriculars to speak of, so hopefully my grades carry me through! I will say that if they do take 3 more weeks to get back to us, I will probably stay where I am since I'll have to do write-on by that point, but I think it will be sooner.

Yeah I think you're right -- certain employment might push one candidate or another over the finish line. Which seems a bit odd, since we haven't actually done anything yet, but with everything else being equal I guess you have to consider something.

Wonder what types of employment they value.
